...This cant be true...

VortexPickle

If I were to ask you to imagine yourself in the 80's and to tell me what you would see inside of household at this time you would probably say way too much Wood Paneling and a Atari would probably be somewhere in your peripherals ...a pioneer of video gaming technology, paving the way for epic adventures and bleep sound effects with aw inspiring realistic explosions. After much success from their console releases into every household, they set sail into a downward slump, leading to the great video game crash in the 80's noone ever thought Atari would ever be able to compete with its rivals at the time, Nintendo and Sega; the companies that saved video games forever. The year is 2020...Atari is making an attempt to create a home entertainment system with a rejuvenation of its consoles respectively sporting the names Atari VCS 400 and 800 while the numbers represent the amount of RAM specified in each machine(4gb, 8gb) and VCS being the original sub-name for the Atari-2600. This console or home computer looks amazing, and will be preloaded with classic Atari games, built on a Linux OS which allows users to completely customize their experience. I was going to make this forum topic much more involved but my fingers are so tired. I've been typing on a joycon with only one input key. URL below; I will be buying from Atari directly, for that beautiful Walnut shell.

...This cant be true...

The clickbait has invaded the forum too ?

So a new Atari VCS, which acts kind of like an Atari classic, with some focus on streaming?

Also, this promises something good ??

*thundercracks* Muhahaha, the teachings of the baiting gods before have passed down their knowledge and fish oil title tactics!!! I'm excited, competition is good especially against all these home entertainment systems being released. I struggle to say gaming console as its more of development and entertainment tool/TV. Obviously you can download original Atari releases spewing across their multiple consoles of the decades; with newer titles not yet announced. Along with being able to actual create your own TV-based app games that you can share amongst the community. Stream Netflix, Hulu, etc. This seems like an interesting step for Atari, directly competing with Apple and Google Stadia adding a unique creative entity not formally seen in this magnitude of entertainment systems. Will Atari be able to gain momentum here as they fish themselves out of a pretty stable company? Or is this another flop like the Atari Jaguar? Being too late to the party, with minimal third party support?

It's a social experiment! Also, how boring would it be if the title were....Atari releases a new console, what happens when this vicious dog meets a docile turtle.

This is my first, and only account on the LTT forum. I'm more of a viewer of his videos as I'm working on passion projects.

The Atari VCS has already been posted on the Tech News forum many months ago. I have moved the thread under General Discuss ion for those who want to talk about it.

Also, in the future, we don't approve of click bait entries under the Tech News section.

No trolling or flame-bait, I see nothing in your community standards that specifically say, no click bait titles. Jack and Jill went up the hill, but in the end nothing even matters.

“Social experiment”. Many of those are cons people aren’t sure will work.  Some of them aren’t.  Many of them are.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

As mentioned, this was announced 2 years ago and we had a thread about it in the News section, so this would be a repost of a very old news.

Welcome to the forum. I suggest that you take some time reading the Community Standards, and the sections Posting Guidelines to avoid further incidents.
