Replacement for TeamViewer

Hey Guys!

So I have been using Teamviewer for some time, NOT for business, but to access the PC's in my own account and sometimes to help parents, family  and friends if they have any issues.

But lately, this thing just stops working, I  can access one way but I cant access the other way around.

Teamviewer had flagged my account as Commercial, but when I wrote to them that I was only freaking accessing PC's in my own account, which could not be deemed as commercial, they took that flag off.

But lately it has become very frustrating.

So I am looking for a replacement, free if possible to remotely access my own machines.

I am willing to pay if I have to, but not freaking $50 / month, that is ridiculous.

Any Suggestions?

Self-host a VNC server (though there's more setup involved with this, it is the only truly free option anymore it seems like)

Yes, even the free version has a lot of features with no ads.
