1660 vs 1660 ti

TCG_Infiniti

Sooo I need a new gpu, mine is giving me a BSOD loop, and I'm looking to get a 1660 ti. I am wondering if getting a 1660 and using the extra cash to get, say more ram, I only have 8gb.  I have a R5 3600.  What gpu should I get

RX 5700,  Blower cards are $289

Otherwise get a used RX 480/580 for $100-120

Yeah, unless he needs the NVENC encoder for something, any of these are a far superior option.

Also, there is an XFX 5700 for $290 on Newegg for the next 8 hours... https://www.newegg.com/xfx-radeon-rx-5700-rx-57xl8mfg6/p/N82E16814150822

I have a Rx 570 and the drivers won't install.  I want to go team green, even though I can get better value from AMD

Where'd you get the card from? You might just need to flash a fresh bios onto it.

Buy a used 980ti then, it's basically a 1080 when it's at 1400+mhz

I got the card on Newegg, and that is a good idea, the 980ti.  A reference one is $225 on eBay.  Should I get a different card so it will run cooler when oc

If you bought it recently you should have no trouble exercising the warranty, or just returning/exchanging it.

Better off with an after market card, should also check offer up for local deals.

Or a 1070ti depending on the deal.

8GBs of VRAM would be nicer. a 980ti would need to be maybe $160 to beat it out.

Or Vega 56 even if you even want to get into overclocking and throw 500W at it.

I'm saying a 980 Ti can't overclock to the performance of a 1080. It might match a stock 1070 Ti.

It actually does beat a 1080 under Ln2, but ya it's more like 90%

The RX 5500 is supposed to be out any day now and if the rumors are true it will have 1660 performance at around $150. You may want to wait and see

It's probably a $199 Vega 56, which isn't half bad, but it'll also have DX9 upscaling, and half the power draw.
