The Best-Looking CPU Cooler! - Noctua Chromax Black

It being shown for 2 seconds makes it worse. You hardly have time to read the labels, look at which is longest and it's gone unless you go back and hit pause. The perception is based on size so a long bar looks like it is a LOT better than a short bar when you do charts like this. A similar bad practice, not used here, is to scale a 2 dimensional illustration to represent something. As area increases with the square, doubling the length results in a misleading bigger area increase.

Pause button? Maybe listen to the commentary? Linus literally says the differences are minimal and can be attributed to manufacturing. Graphs are nothing but tools to summarize data. If you're trying to get some arbitrary meaning or are trying to draw conclusions based on graphs you're doing it wrong. This is something wrong with you, not with LTT. For every range you pick there will be somebody who can find something to whine about. They went with this range, deal with it. It's up to you to read the numbers, listen to the story and interpret this all using your brainmachine.

I usually deal with it by watching LTT for entertainment, not so much for solid data where other sites do it better. Still, you're the only dissenter out of many who take issue with the graphs. There is no question there is room for improvement.

Well, if I had said something like that during argumentation theory classes my teacher would've just kicked me out. It's entertainment for you, but somehow it's not entertainment enough for you to get mixed in discussions about ranges on graphs. Or well, maybe you like ranges on graphs and that is the entertainment part. Define many? I count 3, 4 with you. Out of how many subscribers? What makes you think I'm the only one? Maybe I'm the officially elected spokesperson? Then you draw a conclusion based on something you define as a fact. There is so much wrong with what you've just written. Bah!

If you want to have a discussion about graphs, ok. Free country and all. Please do it somewhere else and leave this thread open for CHRO MAXXXXX discussion. Now excuse me, I must feed my CHRO MAXXXX with photons.

Incidentally, why is it Linus makes fun of Apple for calling their phone PRO MAXXXX and doesn't make fun of Noctua for calling their line CHRO MAXXXX! Can you explain me that? No you can't can you mister I don't like the range on your graphs guy. I sense a conspiracy to draw our attention away from the real scandal.

I've ordered and received my LTT edition D15 already. Suppose I should go install it...

I will just leave with a link to a game screenshot I think summarises my current position.

Could we get a pic of what comes in the LTT edition?
Kinda hard to see the Fan hub stickers and case badge in the video.
Also :( that there's no LTT edition NH-L9i

Best course EVER!!! They teach you to detect other people's bullshit and how not to bullshit yourself. Always handy when you're in a discussion with someone and they're trying to bullshit you.

In these cases I believe its because the data before it is literally impossible to measure. Your zero point is not 0 because under no reasonable circumstances will you be in a 0DBA room for noise testing nor will your CPU idle at 0 degrees.

When your zero point is not 0, measuring data before it statistically is the same as insinuating that the measurement is negative up until said zero point.

No. The point of drawing graphs from 0 is to portray realistic differences among reviewed solutions. If you look at given graphs, you may think, OH MUH GOD, the difference between coolers is MASSIVE. And then you look at the actual numbers and it's 1-2°C. But because it's zoomed so far into the graph, it visually misrepresents the numbers making it look like it's 10°C difference. Which is why we always demand 0 to whatever scale. Because then you see the whole graph and it would also reflect realistic differences unlike what we got here which feels like it was done on purpose since LTT guys NEVER do this kind of marketing nonsense.

I'm just sick at at heart. Today (4 Jan 20) I bought a used Noctua NH-U12S brown fan version for $30 + shipping, That was good. I'd thought I'd looked through all the listings carefully so I hit the "Buy" Button and made the payment. Got the confirmations payment had processed. At that point I went back and was looking through the listings again. Ten listings later I came across a Noctua Chromax Black NH-U12S LTT EDITION for $60+shipping, all parts included, in great condition. I could kick myself. Unfortunately its a few days until payday and funds are low so I can't go back and buy it now (and sell original one I bought). But I've got it on my watch list and if for it's still there in a few days, I'm snapping it up!

RIP my wallet...

On Amazon (US) the regular brown fan version is $59.99, and the black Chromax version is $69.99 so the premium for the black cooler will not break the bank for a change!
