Fan header splitter?

I bought a 2nd Fan for my Hyper 212 Black, and I'm curious about the Fan splitter cable? Are there any disadvantages to using it? Should I plug both of the CPU cooler fans into the CPU header? Or Plug one into the CPU and the other in one of the SYS fan headers?

The disadvantage would be you can't control the fans separately, which in turns is also an advantage (being able to control both at once).

Personally I wouldn't both using 1 CPU fan and 1 SYS fan header and just plugging them into the CPU fan header with a splitter.
