Attention: Nvidia Driver 310.90 not working correctly

Gishan

So Nvidia released 310.90 two days ago, which should resolve security problems that occoured in 310.70.

With this version there is a chance the graphics card will not be detected on booting and therefore the driver won't load (experienced it myself).

It seems to affect a lot of different configurations (Win7/Win8, 32/64bit, different cards, ...).

There is no solution other than reinstalling a previous version at the moment!

Just wanted to warn everyone who doesn't want to risk anything should wait until the problem is solved!

For additional information you can take a look at the offical nvidia forums at https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/33/geforce-drivers/

Isn't this the same problem that plagued 310.54 IIRC that made your computer fail to boot RIGHT AFTER installing the driver set?

This is fixed by restarting the PC just before installing the new driver.

For me, the drivers works exceptionally well on both my laptop (Quadro NVS 160M, 256MB) using GeForce drivers, and my Desktop (GeForce GTX 260)... maybe because I have old GPU's (both systems runs Windows 8 Pro 64-bit)?
