To upgrade from Windows 10 Home if you have a Windows 10 product key:

  1. Select the Start  button, then select Settings  > Update & Security  > Activation.
  2. Select Change product key, and then enter the 25-character Windows 10 Pro product key.
  3. Select Next to start the upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.

Just change the product key.

But why?

If you don't want the pro features, just disable it.  >reding in reverse. my bad.

BitLocker is a pretty big plus on laptops, but I doubt that's the reason here ?

Step 1, insert Pro key. Step 2, let Windows update unlock needed features and install any updates there might be.
