Samsung a50 new VS s8 used.

For roughly the same price. Which phone should I get? Does s8 get android 9 and samsung’s New UI? 

 

What about the processor? How much slower is the one that’s in a50?

The A50 looks like a much better phone than the s8 imo

Galaxy S8 completely DESTROYS the A50 in terms of Specs:

 

Better Display,

better camera,

much much better Performance (SoC is vastly better), (Edit: 146k Antutu points for A50, 202k points on S8)

better materials (glas/metal feels more premium than Plastic), 

USB 3.1 instead of 2.0 speed

 

A50 only has a bigger battery, and it's 2 years newer, thus will probably get 1 or 2 more updates.

Oh yea, and 128gb over 64gb internal storage.

 

Even a Galaxy S7 has better specs than the A50.

 

@ Thread: S8 has Android 9 with OneUI. But this is most likely the last Major Update. This is the big Con of that device.

 

I would consider a Xiaomi Mi 8 (or a used one). This thing is pretty much on a Level with a Galaxy S9 as a 2018 Flaggship. And it doesn't cost much more.

I chose the galaxy S8, A50, and Xiaomi Mi 8 for the comparison. A50 is surprisingly bad compared to those.

Even the Pocophone F1, which lacks an OIS, makes better images in low light.
