Two PCs and two displays

myselfolli

Hi all!

I currently have two PCs that I am using at home: my main rig and a work laptop connected via a docking station.

I also have two monitors, which are connected to my main rig via displayport.

At the moment I always have to unplug the screens from my main PC snd plug them into the docking station for the laptop in order to use the screens for work stuff, same story with my peripherals. And I don't like that.

So I am looking for a sort of displayport 'switch' that I can use to easily switch both displays over from one machine to the other, bonus points if it allows me to switch the peripherals as well.

Does any one of you guys know of such a thing?

Also: Yes, I realize that I could just switch the video source on the monitors, but the OSM is hard to reach due to my setup and I am lazy :)

That looks about right.

Do you by chance know any that support two monitors at (at least) 1440p?

KVM switches are dumb, they just plug stuff into them and allow you to switch between them, what is plugged into them shouldn't matter, unless my knowledge is out of date

This probably worth to look into. From what I've read about KVM's, they are expensive. To the point where those controls start to sound better way.

Kinda sad that monitors don't come with remote control support. Changing input on TVs is just so much easier.

Yeah 550$ is a bit much just for me to be not lazy, I don't think that's worth it xD
