Rzer blackwidow chroma v2

I recently got the razer blackwidow chroma v2 and I want to use lighting effects from  the razer website. When i hit download my computer keeps asking me to look for an app in the app store to open the file. When i go into razer synapse 3, I can't find the file. What app do I have to download if any.

Also in the synapse software, how do I make it so there is no effect but just one color. I am experimenting with the software and I want to only light up a few keys no lighting effects

I'm not a Razer user, but I just looked at some videos and there should be an import button in the Razer Synpapse software, apparently under one of those 'three lines' more options menu.

Also checking out some Razer 'effects' video it seems like you should just be able to set the color mode to 'Custom' and set whatever key to whatever color you want.

I know how to add the effect to the software its just my computer isn't letting me. i guess export the file without an app

You can't download the file, because you don't have a default app to open such files..?

That would be very weird as I have never run into this problem; your browser just has to download a bunch of one's and zero's and you do whatever you want with it.

Are you using Edge or something and pressing 'open file' instead of 'save file'?

I can download the file just fine on Chrome. Even on Edge, you just have to press 'Save' instead of open

Im using chrome. Should I use edge?

No (unless you want to, I guess.. I am not endorsing it), it's just that what you described sounded to me like you were using Edge :P

On Chrome, I just press the download button and it downloads. After you have done that, you just go into your Synapse software you just press the import button and .. Import it.

The files are not showing up in the software. Should I just reinstall the software?

There is no reason for the software not to see the .ChromaEffects extension.  Are you sure that you are looking in the right folder?  You could try setting the file extension type to all files and see if it shows up.

The old lighting effects don't work anymore. They've changed the format a few times but keep the old stuff up. Their software is a mess. You need to just create your own.
