Is this wireless car charger some kind of scam or is it legit (Powr.co)

TommyTwommy

Just woke up to this product being advertised all over my social media.. in the past I've never even bothered looking at those products, but this one caught my eye because it seems really nice and is exactly what I need at the moment (how did they know? ?)

Here is the product:

https://www.powr.co/products/powr-wireless-car-charger

it all seems very shady because of how they advertise it.. there are no reviews anywhere but on their website.. i've never heard of the company.. the review they used to advertise it on facebook had a grammar error (your / you're)..

the discount is also makes it seem shady ($120 -> $40).. it just seems someone bought a huge batch of cheap Chinese ebay chargers and is reselling them under their brand..

under scam I mean low quality cheap chinese, will break in a week.. not they'll just take my money and never send it.

Heh, "discount"; pretty sure its original price is $40. It's not directly a scam, considering those guys seemingly have PayPal-payment support and their business-address can also be found on the website, but....yeah, it just smells like a re-brand.

Avoid. If you're interested in purchasing a car charger, explore options elsewhere from reputable retailers and companies.

Just for a quick follow up answer to this, the company is also rated as an "F" on the BBB. Apparently they send out a load of defective merchandise and have little to no customer service, including no phone number and a wacky return policy. Bait for your cash. Just plug your phone in and get a good mount. The extra 10 seconds is worth getting a product that works.
