Will ma PC die?

WiKeZ

Hey guys, I have a question.

My specs are:

i5-9600k

Gigabyte b360 hd3 (MB)

2x Kingston HyperX 4GB

CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo (CPU cooler)

Some HDD 1TB and 500GB

SSD 256GB

CoolerMaster MasterWatt 500 lite fully modular (PSU)

Will my PSU be enough for my next possible upgrade which is a Gigabyte RTX 2070 Gaming OC 8G?

Like I know I'll need a new PSU, but could I temporary use my pc with only 500W and that GPU?

The issue might be that this GPU comes pre-overclocked so it uses a great amount of power...

Hope you got a good deal on that 9600k, else it's going to waste in that B series board.

500 watts is certainly enough power, you can see my signature for reference. However, if you're concerned about quality, click my PSU, it links to the tier list and you can get a relative idea of how good your unit is.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I would like to know, why would the motherboard be wasting it? Thanks for the reply :D

The 9600k is designed to be overclocked, a soldered version of the 8600k for better thermals. It's far more expensive but without overclocking it's the same as an i5 8600, non k.

Ow ok, don't worry, I got it for like 20$ less than an 8600(very much sale). But can't I overclock the 9600k with this motherboard? This is actually something very important for me to know, how and if I can.

You need a Z series board for overclocking, a Z370 (with updated BIOS) or Z390

Good sale buy though.

Get a Z390 Aorus board, those are some of the best. I wouldn't even get a Z370 board.

And, what's better about it?

Z390 has overall better VRM's and overclocking potential, especially for higher TDP chips like the 9900K and 8700K

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Wall Of Fame (Informative people/People I like): @Glenwing @DrMacintosh @Schnoz @TempestCatto @LogicalDrm @Dan Castellaneta
