Get one of your writers who has little to no experience with Linux to use it exclusively for 30 days. Have his computer at work have Linux and give him a gaming laptop or a good desktop to use at home with Linux installed.

You could do 4 videos with various updates on how the transition is working. You could hit key topics like work productivity, gaming, personal use (music listening, movies, web browsing), and an overview of the pros and cons of being in a Linux environment. See how far he could get and if he gets hung up with any major issues.

To be fair, the PrtScn key isn't obvious to most people what it does, if it even exists on their keyboard.

I'm pretty sure most people don't know what Scroll Lock and Pause/Break originally were supposed to do without consulting Wikipedia.

It only applies to UWP apps who implement Bing Ads platform. It is so that you have ads based on your interest, else you'll get the generic ads.

Also don't forget that just because it isn't showing ads in the OS doesn't mean its not selling your usage data to give you ads on websites you visit and videos you watch.

An ad to me is an notice which exist to inform me about some other product or service, with the hopes that I spend money on it.
For example the "recommendations" for different programs which appear in the start menu are ads if you ask me. The lock screen going "hey, you might like the new Tomb Raider game. Here is a picture from the game and a link to the store where you can buy it" is an ad in my eyes.
The shortcuts labeled things like "Excel", which just brings you to the store page where you can buy Excel are ads in my eyes.
The message in Explorer which looks like this, is an ad in my eyes:

    Stuff like that.

With Windows 7 being gone, this will be the year that Microsoft really pushes its users to see how far they can push.

It all depends on where you work. If you work for a managed IT company, you will probably have to drive around. If you are an in-house IT tech or help desk, you might not need to go anywhere. I started as a tech/sales for a store and didn't go anywhere. I went to working for a VOIP provider doing tier 1 support over the phone and didn't have to commute but it sucked. Once I graduated from college I took a job as help desk and worked my way up. I'm currently the DBA for the same company that hired me as help desk.

I see the purpose for laptops, but they don't fill the same role for me as desktops. Not to mention that due to power usage, even the fastest hardware in a laptop is still on par with the mid range stuff from a generation (or 2) back.

I'm mostly tired of having to charge yet another thing every night to use. I wouldn't mind using some of my expensive headphones with my phone too though. I don't mind a dongle as much as others but I'd still be happy with a headphone jack.

The 2 Core 2 Duos will run fine with XP, the i5's and Ryzens are unlikely to. Its mostly due to drivers just not being written for XP.

Your best bet is either 7 or 10. 7 is end of life in 2 weeks, so keep that in mind too.

Thank you for being self aware and taking care of this. I go to a lot of conventions for work and I think this should be on a LOT of people's 2020 list. Not just antiperspirant, some people (not saying you) need to learn what a tooth brush and shampoo are.

I have been a Lastpass user about 6 years and liked it. I was a litte wary when they were bought out by logmein but I stuck through it. Recently people have been saying that they are seeing popups asking them to upgrade and the free tier only saves 20 logins. This was confirmed on the lastpass subreddit as a "trial" for targeted audiences. That was enough fro me to move everything to Bitwarden. Been happy so far with that and using Authy for my 2fa.

This goes back to the argument that 99% of the people who buy cell phones buy them for what they are, not because of their specs. I've never heard a normal person sit there and argue that the S10 is better because it has 8 cores or 3x the ram. You hear people saying they like iPhone because of iMessage, iPhoto, and "because its an iPhone".
