Redliquid reacted to othertomperson in Hydro H80i in a Define R4
You really don't see the contradiction you're arguing here? "An AIO is not silent because it has fans. Get a fan instead."
You are suggesting otherwise. Scenario: You have a case with noisy stock fans, you want to replace them with as-silent-as-possible fans. You buy two front intake, two top exhaust and one rear exhaust. Then you get an air cooler. That is six fans.
Alternatively you get a 240mm AIO, and two fans to go with it since you don't like the ones that came with it. So you get two front intakes, two top exhausts that attach to the rad and one rear exhaust. That's five fans.
So you are literally saying "don't buy five fans and stick them in your pc. That's loud. Buy six instead."

No, it isn't. The pump isn't loud but the Kraken x60's pump isn't either while being quieter.
Silent is silent. Quiet or very quiet is not silent.
The H110 is a 280mm rad and uses 140mm fans.
Spectre Pros are fine for performance but aren't that quiet. If you really want to go with an AIO like the H110, I'd recommend getting something along the lines of Rosewill Hyperboreas/Akasa Apaches.

If you're shooting for silence, I suggest staying away from AIO's in general. The H80i or H100i with noise-dampening foam is still quite louder than a decent heatsink without any foam.

Redliquid reacted to airdeano in Why isnt GPU Water cooling bigger on the market?
@Redliquid
the GPU thermal issues haven't been until the hawaii GPU cores of 95° under
load and it really hasn't been a grand concern till now. not a new science or
idea of liquid cooling the GPU, but because of the proliferation of different GPU
models, manufacturers, reference or custom PCB, version, or limited edition
makes it a hard decision on making a mass-produced product for so many SKus.
earlier we had DWood custom brackets and an UK affiliate and now we have
NZXT and Corsair (also another outlet for their liquid cooling kits) jump into
the fight for thermal control on GPUs.
honestly, if the fan noise is what ruins the GPU experience, then either the
aftermarket air coolers or liquid cooler kits are fashionably in season. the AMD
platform does benefit from the cooler temps (30° delta) which allows for some
overclocking headroom (not much) as well as the nVidia side (20° delta) yields
more OC playtime. but in the end, is it the bees-knees for actual game-play?
3-5fps maybe? other than a quieter experience (onboard fan noise profile) you
have to consider is the noise a $100-$150 worthwhile experience enhancement?

Because it is a very niche market. NZXT has a bracket that allows you to connect a cpu cooler to most cards but that's about it as far as noob friendly solutions.

Corsair exceeds (my) expectations with reasonably prices entries for RGB versions of k70 ($169.99), k95($189.99) and m65 ($69.99)
Available in late July for k70 and late August for k95/m65.
I'm going to be putting in my pre order for a RGB k95 as soon as I can.
Here is Corsair's promo video

Edit:
K70 will initially launch with red switches only, and blue / brown switches won't be available until late August.
Also it is not clear whether the K95 will be available in any other switch type than red.
This is somewhat disappointing as I personally plan to get brown switches.

Redliquid reacted to Heisenbleurgh in Advice on a new Mech Keyboard
Neither are mechanical and yet are priced as if they are. OP, please don't get these
The "spamming" you refer to is the rate of repeat in the keyboard. This is found in Ducky Shine 3 keyboards and the new Cooler Master Rapid-i keyboard. Both come in tenkeyless (I assume this is what you meant by small).
I believe Cooler Master only comes in brown switches and white backlight:
http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Tenkeyless-Mechanical-Individual/dp/B00JM61264/
The Ducky Shine 3 lets you mix and match as much as you may want:
orange backlight - http://www.ncix.com/detail/ducky-dk9087-shine-3-mx-b7-90655-1016.htm
purple - http://www.ncix.com/detail/ducky-dk9087-shine-3-mx-b7-90653.htm
red - http://www.ncix.com/detail/ducky-dk9087-shine-3-mx-b7-90654.htm
There's also white, blue and green but couldn't find those in stock.
Here's another alternative, Max Blackbird, but doesn't have the repeat rate though:

and here's an even smaller Vortex Race 2, it comes with a green backlight but no repeat rate either:

Redliquid reacted to nj4ck in Freezing problems
Leave task manager or afterburner hardware monitor on and wait for the problem to occur, after it does, check to see if RAM usage, CPU usage or GPU usage has spiked up to 100% at any time. I had this issue once, it was related to google chrome, sadly I don't remember exactly how I fixed it.

1200 is the fan's max rpm, meaning that that is the max speed it will run at. The speed the fan will be running at will be determined by the motherboard, depending on CPU temperature.

It's no problem. We are here because we like to help. I am glad to hear that you got it working. Have fun with your new PC.

Redliquid reacted to legopc in I Require Assistance!
becaus the motherboard might detect that there is no gpu and say well i give up and just shut down becaus there is not a lot you can do without a gpu and also since there is no onboard it relys on a discreet gpu

How about other games? I don't really think using CoD is a good way to determine that your having problems with your card. I don't think its optimized for PC.
