Fitting A H80i

Go to solution Solved by antoainb,

It will fit and you can replace the fans.

Greetings!

So i was concidering getting a Corsair H80i in my case since i have a window and i'd like to see more than a fatass cpu air cooler when i look at it on my desk.

I am using a Fractal Design R4 with a MSI X79A-BG45 Plus Inside of it and a GTX 780 as a gpu.

The Questions:

1 Will it fit in the case with this mb?  (i know the socket fits but i ment in the fan part)

2 Can i change one of the 120 mm fans with a Bitfenix Spectre pro 120 mm fan?

Thanks in forehand :)

I already have a 140 mm spectre pro fan that has 120 mm screw holes in it. Do you think that will fit also?

It's going to be on the inside of the case so closest to the cpu

If it has 120mm mounting holes it should fit.

Actually i have another question lol

The max fan speed of the standard fans are 2700 rpm with a 37,7 dB noise level.

The Spectre Pros fan speed is 1200 rpm with a 18.9 dB noise level.

How is that gonna work?

With the Spectre pros that i fit in just max out at 1200 rpm and stay there all the time  or....?

1200 is the fan's max rpm, meaning that that is the max speed it will run at. The speed the fan will be running at will be determined by the motherboard, depending on CPU temperature.

Ok so my cooling wont be AS efficient as with the stock fans, but it will be quieter. (Always nice)

I'm using a Core i7-4820K but i doubt overheating will be a problem even if i have 2 fans running at max 1200 rpm (but preferably lower)
