AmyTheBun got a reaction from Psittac in SHP 9500 vs HD 518 vs HD599 SE vs 58X (canada)
I understand that this may be Irrational or weird but I am very paranoid about hygiene and have OCD and since my own headphones got ear gunk and some marks on the inner drives from my ears touching them I rather spend the money on a new pair!
I could replace the pads but the inner fabric and the heads trap are hard to replace.

again I understand that there's practically nothing wrong with doing that but with headphones I rather stay away from it.

I can always try asking there too! this sale is gonna end soon tho 😅

honestly i tried proton and i'm impressed af. it works very well.
i installed pop os at first and had a lot of bugs/issues, but now ubuntu works very well after instilling nvidia drivers and switching to xorg

    it's ok!
and so far with my new GF1 ARGB (damn gotta admit... this psu is kinda pretty ;O and fancy.. it even came with a dumb bag in case i wanna take it out for a walk or something?! lol) i've had zero issues! so it probably was my old PSU.
it had super loud coil whine too

Temps look good then. See if separate power cables improve anything.

a safe overclocking is like around +100 on the core and +500 on the memory, of course this will vary by card, but you can try this configuration I said, it should be safer.

and yes as the rule of thumb says, overclocking does make your components wear down a little faster than normal. a safer overclock would maybe maybe consitis of like
+20-60 on the core and keeping memory +500, lower on the memory is preferred like 400-450

out of the two... 3060ti 2x probably...
but it's like asking me to pick rat poison and rotten burger, i wouldnt do either honestly

i strongly advice against paying such stupid price for the GPU, the ROI alone will be stupidly long, therefore the risk of it "crashing" before he ROI is very real
the max i paid for a 3070 is $1000 in march, and it's already borderline stupid as im looking at ROI around october or november at best, not even sure if the crypto hype will last that long

but if it's his money, then whatever he wants to do, i guess

edit: oh and, ETH is going POS, so no more mining ETH some time next year i think(?)

Not sure if you figured this out, but the card is not dying. I dont need to comment on anything else.

We're all responsible for the environment; obviously ALL of us are willing to some extent to sacrifice it for our own comfort and convenience (HVAC, hot showers, powerful computers, etc) and everyone has their reasons.

It's no more noble to criticize others for their personal reasons for what they do when it's almost 100% certain that the person criticizing them also has their own personal compass on what is considered acceptable hydrocarbon expenditure for their conveniences, but I think it's also kind of a silly point to deny that the damage happens.

Yes, millions of people mining if only for a few months impacts the environment. Yes, it also can be justifiable.

SATA ones are definitely inferior. NVMe is a different story, the SN550 is actually a very good drive. And yes I own the SN550, two SN750s, and several DRAM-less SATA drives.

okay then I'll leave it at stock!
