It might look weird to your eyes tho when you move the cursor from one monitor to another, my friend uses his dad's old lcd 4:3 768p monitor from the early 2000s as his secondary monitor along side a 144hz samsung curved gaming monitor, it feels weird when you move around the cursor in one and then take it to the other

It probably won't, as long as you don't use both the monitor half half in full screen

Relph84 reacted to mariushm in Those GPU Ports Caps, Remove or Keep Them On?
They prevent humidity and dust from getting inside the connectors. There's no heat coming out of the connectors, so they don't block any ventilation if they're capping the connectors.
I keep them on because of the reasons above and also because I'd lost them otherwise, there's no benefit to removing them.

Relph84 reacted to RONOTHAN## in Why does my Asus H670 Board Have a 8 pin + 4 pin?
For the most part it is completely unnecessary. The 8 pin header can handle 396w in its standard current variant, more than you can reasonably cool an Alder Lake chip with. That said, the 12900KS exists, a CPU that can draw 431w according to Techpowerup with just removing the power limits (a feature IIRC is available on the H- series boards). That's enough power draw that you'd want to have the extra 4 pin. Whether or not the VRM can handle that amount of current a 12900KS uses without water cooling the VRM is a different story though.

Don't worry about plugging the 4 pin in. As far as I'm concerned any CPU you're going to install in that board doesn't need it. There is one CPU currently that can max that 8 pin out, and even then the VRM likely can't handle power draw without throttling. It's basically just there to make the spec sheet look nicer

Relph84 reacted to 8tg in Why does my Asus H670 Board Have a 8 pin + 4 pin?
It’s to make it look like it’s more than it really is, it’s a 1 cent part with barely any board changes required and previously having extra eps power inputs was a feature only in high end systems.
Note that a single 4 pin can handle 140-150 watts on its own, more than enough for any stock processor except maybe the i9’s

Same reason the RX470 had an 8gb variant, as if anything the 470 was capable of would ever utilize 8gb of vram, especially at the time. Consumers look at it and go “wow this 200$ card has more video memory than the 980ti and fury X” and then they are sorely disappointed. It’s for looks, marketing appeal, a footnote on the box letting people know it’s for e x t r e m e g a m i n g p o w e r

If one car has a 6.0 litre engine in it and another exact same car has a 4.0 litre engine in it, how much faster is one over the other?

It's not about room in the case, it's about airflow.  Conceivably the smaller case would have better airflow due to smaller size but without a lot more information it's only a guess.

The 60 litre case will take longer to warm up since there's more air to do so (heat capacity), but the final temperatures stay the same because the amount of air bringing heat outside is the same, which is handled by the case fans only. Same case fan setup, same airflow

If I'm correct, open up the settings and you will get this window. Here you can select the screen (#2) and it should work.

The question is; 'Do I need Geforce?'
    The Answer is; No

But is it handy to have it? Yes and here is why.
It will keep track on the latest versions of NVIDIA drivers and will let you know when one is released Geforce can help you set the graphics for the game that your system can handle (sometimes it set it a bit to high the game settings) and you can toggle it down with the tool when you click on the game in Geforce If you're into content creation you may like to use NVIDIA's game capturing tools or not

The best way is to look to companies official websites.
Otherwise you may got installed wrong/corrupted firmware.

I used Iobit driver booter, which also manage to  get my acer laptops firmware too.

However,, I prefer using windows updates for it, or download from Acer itself.

When had my previous laptop (Toshiba) I used app which downloaded firmware, happened so it failed to indentfy right verion, which messed up bios.
So had to flash them  manually.  And it was hard to find 6 years old laptops bios..

The moral of the story,..  Don't use thrid parties apps to downloa firmware

Relph84 reacted to LogicalDrm in Software to Search for The Latest Firmware Updates
First of all, do you really mean firmware and not driver? Those are two different things. Of your hardware only GPU and mobo actually have something like firmware. That would be integrated piece of software.

It's more common for your keyboard, mouse and router to have firmware.

There's no good universal solution. And I strongly advise against updating firmware manually, without using special tool by manufacturer if you don't know what you are doing. I've bricked router with wrong firmware version.

For drivers, Win10 does enough. You don't actually need to update drivers unless you are having issues anyway. Not even graphics one. They don't expire.

I use the Microsoft Defender for years now and it works fine and no problems or heavy use of cpu + it's free.

There are some scanners/protectors that can be very cpu heavy or make some other programs slow or not work.

Hello again. So I have been customizing my desktop main screen (see picture) with a nice clock/date/weather and some desktop info on the right.

Now I want a RSS Feed on my main screen that has customization options and if possible multiply option for more feed windows.

    Does anyone know a program/widget or a rainmeter skin/plugin?

As you see I'm already using one (rainmeter skin) but I can only use one screen and can't customize de window + it's a bit buggy.

    Thank you ?

One trick you can use that's good for location OCD are symbolic links.  If a program insists on having a folder where you'd rather it wasn't, simply move the folder to where you want it to be, then make a symbolic link from where it was to the new location using mklink /d source dest in the command prompt.  You can then hide that link too

Relph84 reacted to dstarfire in Where to install the game launchers?
I'd put the launchers on your C drive (which I assume is a smaller, faster SSD than this new one) and configure them to store files on the D drive. Speedwise it probably makes no difference, but that will make it easier to find the game files if you like adding mods, modifying save files, or otherwise tinkering with the game files yourself.
