The Xeon 1230V3 for example is the same as the core i7-4770 but with no integrated graphics and 100mhz slower, but cost about the same as the core i5-4670K..that's makes it the best INtel CPU pick, more future proof with hyperthreading for future games.

Should be fine. I have yet to see anyone have issue with haswell xeons in any 1150 motherboards. 

I give it like a 95% chance of working. You could always return the cpu if it doesn't work.

The rule of thumb is it fits it sits. Should work without any issue.

Q8300 is all he's going to need. There is a noticeable performance uplift inside the windows environment going from a dual to a quadcore on LGA 775.

The Xeon one is a steal. Price of an I5 while perform like an I7

For gaming, get at least an i5, with the way the games are going to be more and more multi-threaded
a dual-core CPU no mather how good it is will most likely no longer cut it for most modern games by the end of this year...
if you could go with an 8 thread capable CPU (Xeon 1230, core i7 or FX-83xx) it would be even better for gaming and multi-tasking.

You people all don't know anything about Maxwell appearently. Maxwell has l3 cache which makes memory bandwidth a hell of a lot less important.

Actually the way things are going you might need 8gb video ram before you need 16gb of system ram. Well not really but wouldn't that be something? A computer that basically becomes even more of a support system for the GPU. Maybe even going with a modular GPU solution on a dual case in the future: half the case for the PC and the other half for a GPU motherboard and your choice of GPU processor and gddr memory, and your selection of cooling

Comparing an AIO and a single fan cooler is an unfair comparison. 

If you are not going to overclock go xeon

Intel, after all this time, finally has an entirely in-house designed consumer SSD to pick up where the X25-M left off!

4k is overrated, IMO. 4k tv's are pretty nice, but not monitors. I'll invest when I can get a 55" for less than my house. It's stupid hard to run in this gen, and probably isnt that much more noticeable over 1440p.
