You do realise that's exactly like saying to Intel "Give me a i7 for £50 and I'll consider it"

They're not exactly going to bend to your will

tn panels are better than ips, the end.

ips panels have horrible glow/bleed effects on many colors, so true sharpness is an extreme issue. ips panels have "slower pixels" meaning they can't get as good refresh rates. tn panels have less input lag and have a faster pixel transition. i can keep going on. any real gamer would rather go with a high quality tn or va 120hz monitor than an ips thingamajiger.

this is coming from someone whom owns a 1440p ips panel, and previously owned a 23" ips panel. they just aren't good for gaming.

Hate on TN is a little overrated. TN can still look more than acceptable and I'm sure this monitor will be decent. Perhaps people should wait until it's reviewed before judging the panel itself...

I can't wait for a proper review with a 'regular' TN panel, a korean IPS and the Swift close to each other to compare.

I was excited about this until I recently bought my first IPS panel, and now not so much. Will just have to wait and see what people are saying about the panel once it's released I suppose.

Agreed - we need more reviews on RECENT TN panels

90% of people's perception of TN panels (including mine) is from old mid-2000 era that had to be angled 100% perfectly to even look proper. It's been years since then, and if it was truly that bad still, TN as a panel technology would have been abandoned completely for IPS...but it's still around

I really want some more reviews/perspectives on recent, QUALITY TN Panels

There are already reviews on it. The new Rec 2020 UHD-1 10/12-bit true color 2160p 60Hz TN panels are giving low/mid quality IPS a run for their money. I believe the new Samsung 4K monitor is using one of these 10-bit TN panels and many professional reviewers have said they are surprised at the color reproduction of it.

The whole "barf TN" is from the old 6-bit Rec 709 TN panels. A lot of other PC enthusiast forums have already accepted that TN isn't bad anymore for gaming and movie watching, but for some reason many of the LTT forum users are still brainwashed into thinking TN is garbage and IPS/PLS rules the panel industry.

If users aren't doing professional work on their monitors, there really is no reason to get IPS/PLS over the new TN panels anymore. Especially once the industry starts to roll out the 12-bit TN panels.

If only it were IPS...

You do realize that the panel used isn't indicative of the quality of the image reproduction, right? There are great TN panels and shit IPS panels. Don't believe me? BenQ XL2420TE would like a word with you.

I did a poll a few weeks ago asking which graphical quality features IPS users here at LTT actually use. To perceive any useful difference (beyond minor differences in delta) you need to set the colour space to Adobe RGB or something other than the standard colour space and ideally 10 bit colour if you have the chain for it. Only about half of IPS owners even did so, which means most of them are emulating a TN colour space on their IPS screens!!!! Funny how that works out.

This screens needs to be TN because its >60hz. IPS just does not have good pixel response times, its nearly 10x that of TN these days and the ghosting is a real issue. I don't doubt a 60hz IPS screen with gsync would be enormously popular, but having had both side by side I choose the extra refresh rate. I simply don't have a need for an accurate colour chain, I don't edit videos or photos professionally. There are a lot of image professionals who hang out here apparently, oddly enough half of them don't know how to set up their monitor properly!

Hmm. That makes this monitor rather tempting.

I don't care because it's tn. I'll stick with my pls panel 1440p monitor with a 60hz refresh rate.
