No, the noise may be similar but not the same. They have different motors and iPPC's tend to be not as quiet especially at lower rpm due to pwm clicking.
    https://noctua.at/en/are-industrialppc-fans-as-quiet-as-other-noctua-fans
The clicking seems to be less of an issue when running the 24v models with 12v. https://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=69623

Not my video and it doesn't show off the issue well but it's just to show that it's not an common complaint about iPPC's being noisier. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSH3uZcPsNc&feature=youtu.be
I just tested it myself with 2000rpm iPPC's and normal NF-F12's and the iPPC exhibits worse clicking / rumble.

I wouldn't recommend 3000rpm fans if you care about noise. At the very least, go for the 2000rpm model or the normal NF-A14.

Could just get the 2k versions. Or a regular version if they offer it in black now.
going above 1500 isn’t gonna do much for you.

Even without using headphones when I am just using my PC for homework or browsing the web and not listening to anything I can tune out the noise after 10-15 minutes of using my PC.

I have both the 120mm version and the 140mm version of the 3000 RPM Noctua industrial fans. I have 6 of the 140mm version on my Thermaltake view 91 case and 6 of the 120mm version in a push/pull configuration on my ROG Ryujin 360 AIO water cooler. I have them all set to full speed in the BIOS and I can't hear them when I am playing a or listening to music with my headphones. Also the specs say they can run at 3000 RPM but, according to the readings in the BIOS the max for the fans in my system is anywhere from 2600-2800 RPM. This could be normal or an issue I am not sure.

Looks like it's memory heavy on higher core counts as well, X299 CPUs does have better memory controllers than AMD (even on Zen 2) so there's that.

They will destroy all AMD CPUs before Zen 2 if you have FP64 heavy workloads supporting AVX-512, in my case that is for prime number finding using software that works similarly to Prime95. Zen 2 is only kinda competitive because they have more cores for the money. Zen 2 is comparable to consumer Intel CPUs (per core) and earlier Ryzen is about Sandy Bridge level in this use case.

I'm waiting for my Z390 master to be RMA, I should really update my signature but I upgraded to M.2 storage a month or so ago. Currently i'm using my old PC which i've been using for Media and it only has a small 128gb sata ssd. If I can at least get my m.2 storage drive working, i'd be happy.

IMHO if you're buying new, an 8700K is the wrong CPU. If you've found a good deal used, go for it but make sure you buy a good VRM Z390 motherboard so you can upgrade later.

If you're just gaming and web browsing like most people it's pretty much up there with the best.

    I noticed a difference when I moved from an 8600k to a 8700k. I didn't notice a difference when I moved from 2600k to 8600k or when i moved from 8700k to 9900kf.

If you're not gaming at 1080 for high refresh rates, theres not much point imho.

If a company is operating in the US you're protected from any type of conditional warranty restrictions e.g. product registration, providing proof of purchase. If a product is sold with a warranty they're required to honor it until it ends with or without a receipt. (End date determined by the original manufacturing date without receipt)  Some companies try to maneuver their way out of honoring it as some people will just give up on cheaper items. Something more expensive like a CPU is a different scenario.

What information do I need to provide?
The following information is required to process warranty requests:
Proof of purchase Intel® Technology Provider Program membership number (if member) Your email address and telephone number Your shipping address Name of the product The system product code and serial number for Intel® Data Center Blocks (Intel® DCB) Server Systems Product part number Serial number or sSpec for boards or server products Batch number (FPO) and Serial number (ATPO) for processors Serial number/secure serial number for SSD products

I too have not had a cpu die on me, however I have had RAM and motherboards die on me so it is unfortunately possible.

When I have RMA parts in the past every one of the companies has requested the serial number of the part and a purchase receipt, is Intel different?

Good idea on the mockup though, I am waiting for my Z390 Master to come back from RMA, once it's back i'll give this a try!

    According to this: https://www.xtremerigs.net/2015/02/11/radiator-round-2015/6/

The EK XE360 is one of the bests rads out there. That being said there's a lot of factors that contribute to total cooling performance including thermal paste, pump and fan speed etc. As for if it will fit what I would do is get the case first if you don't already have it and install any parts you have or make cardboard mock ups then measure the clearances. That's what I did for my personal build and one of my new rads just barely fit but I knew it would cus of the measurements I did before hand.

Kitsan reacted to Donut417 in Which gaming router?
    Ethernet will do that.

Doesnt work that way. Wireless will always have higher latency than a wire. The day to day exprience with wireless can and will change. Because your at the mercy of devices using the same bands as WiFi and at the mercy of your neighbors wireless routers as well. There is very limited wireless spectrum for us to use.

What you need is this. Get a WiFi 5 (AC) router. Personally I have the Synology RT2600AC and it does the job. Ubiquti is also a good option, but a standard Edge router doesnt offer wireless so you would have to buy a AP as well. My other advice is to use Etherent for your gaming machines.

You just added more than double (if not triple) the CPU power and nearly triple the GPU power, it'd better be a big difference in gaming.

The board tho... I'd rather spend more on that. also, RAM?

Use decent SSDs, say the MX500 or SU800. NVMe... imo not a really big difference on top of SATA SSDs for just games and browsing the internet.

Intel benefits plenty from memory, fine tuning timings alone already gives meaningful gains in performance.

I have noticed you always go around saying memory is meaningless for Intel which is not accurate since 2500k's days.
Both these videos should already give a good idea about the subject.

Also none you wrote really answers OP.

@remus243 Have in mind that the 9900KF does have a "broken" silicon to a degree, it's iGPU is disabled for a reason after all.

What voltages are you running the memory at? You mentioned having a 8700K, are you re-using your old windows install?
What's the best you managed on timings at 3200mhz?

I was only able to get my 9900kf to 4100mhz on 4400mhz ram. On the other hand, I had to return my 9900ks because the ram wouldn't go above 2600.
