In what tasks?

For most purposes it would be smarter to get a more recent AMD chip.

If you're just gaming and web browsing like most people it's pretty much up there with the best.

I noticed a difference when I moved from an 8600k to a 8700k. I didn't notice a difference when I moved from 2600k to 8600k or when i moved from 8700k to 9900kf.

If you're not gaming at 1080 for high refresh rates, theres not much point imho.

im thinking about the future, the 8700k will definetely be better long term, the 4930k will keep deteriorating

IMHO if you're buying new, an 8700K is the wrong CPU. If you've found a good deal used, go for it but make sure you buy a good VRM Z390 motherboard so you can upgrade later.

It would be better to get a Ryzen cpu聽at this point in time.聽 I'd go聽for the 3600 if you're just gaming, or a 3700x if you do other things like streaming or video editing as well.聽 The performance difference isn't worth the extra money for an intel cpu imo.

If you want to go intel path regardless AMD offers and you have time, I聽would personally聽wait for聽Q1聽"new" intel gen CPUs. They all should have HT and it will be new platform for possible upgrades in future - up to 10core CPU.聽

Otherwise go AMD. 3000 series is nice and ZEN3 might be pretty nice upgrade too.

I loved upgrading to mine. Not as much head room as I would have liked though.聽

Also wasn鈥檛 a fan of waiting for stuff to come out as I wanted to enjoy my game throughly before it was too late.聽

Either way you鈥檒l have a better cpu. But like other say you could get better with other stuch and/or waiting.聽

High resolutions actually cause you to make less use of your CPU, it doesn't make any sense to change it from what you have in this case.

...no it won't, cpus don't "deteriorate" with time... and buying things you don't need because you think they may be useful at some point in the future is the easiest way to waste money. By the time you actually need it it will be much cheaper, or there will be much better options at the same price.

4770 is horrid compared to the 8700. Atleast when they are unlocked.聽

I experience horrible stuttering in certain games, 100% sure its my cpu or rams fault. Plan on having the 8700k for probs 5+ years aint wasting nothing here

You plan on keeping a 2 year old CPU for another 5 years? Bold move Cotton. I'm an intel fanboy, and even I wouldn't pick that rig up.聽

Z370 board prices dropped like crazy, I got my last one for 80 bucks at Memory Express. DDR4 costs are also dirt cheap - I can get 32GB of Gskill for 120-130 bucks Canadian.聽

So unless that CPU is magically worth 350-400 bucks, I wouldn't consider that a steal at all.聽

Let's try to diagnose the problem instead of just throwing money at it.

Or you could import it from somewhere else in the EU?

If you're getting a z370/8700k/32gb 3200mhz and a RX570 for 5000KR. That's a damn good deal.

Diagnosed how?

If you're buying it at market price now but will only need it 4 years from now then yes, it's wasted money because in 4 years you could definitely have bought something better for cheaper given how the market is moving. You can buy whatever you want, just be aware that we don't recommend it - isn't that what you wanted to know by posting here?

I would agree that it's definitely not the CPU which is causing stuttering unless it's faulty.

A used 8700K at the price he's got it for is a good buy. Will it last as long as a 2600K or a 3900X... who knows and that's subjective in itself.
