Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-3000

Im thinking about getting one of these to go with my NZXT H1 when it arrives, I was wondering if the iPPC-3000 is the same noise as the regular Noctua NF-A14 at the same RPM... but with a much higher ceiling?

 

Is the Noctua NF-A14 still the best aftermarket fan for a radiator?

140mm maybe, not 120mm

I have both the 120mm version and the 140mm version of the 3000 RPM Noctua industrial fans. I have 6 of the 140mm version on my Thermaltake view 91 case and 6 of the 120mm version in a push/pull configuration on my ROG Ryujin 360 AIO water cooler. I have them all set to full speed in the BIOS and I can't hear them when I am playing a or listening to music with my headphones. Also the specs say they can run at 3000 RPM but, according to the readings in the BIOS the max for the fans in my system is anywhere from 2600-2800 RPM. This could be normal or an issue I am not sure.

Even without using headphones when I am just using my PC for homework or browsing the web and not listening to anything I can tune out the noise after 10-15 minutes of using my PC.

Could just get the 2k versions. Or a regular version if they offer it in black now. 
going above 1500 isn’t gonna do much for you.

No, the noise may be similar but not the same. They have different motors and iPPC's tend to be not as quiet especially at lower rpm due to pwm clicking.

I just tested it myself with 2000rpm iPPC's and normal NF-F12's and the iPPC exhibits worse clicking / rumble.

 

I wouldn't recommend 3000rpm fans if you care about noise. At the very least, go for the 2000rpm model or the normal NF-A14.

Noctua 3000rpm  is an indusrtial fan, i’ve just built a hackintosh for my brother. One of the fans i had lying around was a nf-f12 3000rpm, so i used it as an exhaust fan. Set it up in bios an flat minimum rpm. Every time he gets an imessage while pc is in sleep mode it starts up the fan at max rpm. It sound like a vacuum cleaner for a few seconds.

Thanks for all the replies guys, feels like the standard NF-A14 is the best noise to performance ratio for a 140mm radiator fan?

 

I wanted something quiet as I'm building this system for when I go back to uni in September to study an MBA but can also keep the 9900KF nice and cool.
