Time for the final piece of the puzzle!

"Upgrading" the CPU to a 9900K.

    This build is 100% done!

Got it for a good deal. Not a golden chip. But a decent undervolt at 4.9/4.7; I'll take it for the better multithreaded performance

And new Timespy Score! (I thought a 9900K could get me to 99% of all but oh well..  )

So finally after about 1.5 months from my last post, Singapore has eased some of the Circuit Breaker measures, allowing many shops and businesses to open again. I head back to Sim Lim Square yesterday to get some sleeved PSU cables.

I also reworked the cable management for the GPU because it looks untidy!

Really like this build's theme. I can't quite read the engravings on your reservoir, but I do like the feel they give to the system.

It was quite a ride and I'm having a lot of fun learning. I know there are some things i could have done better but hey not bad for a first time i think. This build has performed amazing.

I think, this might belong here:

Some time ago, I fell in love with the look of Nixie tubes. Nixie tubes are the kind of display which was used before 7-segment-displays came into market, so until maybe 1980ish or something. For futher information, go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixie_tube

Since I love the aesthetics of these nixie tubes, I wanted them in a Computer for displaying CPU temperature and load, GPU temperature and load, RAM load and Graphic Memory Load. The general idea was to build something, that could have belonged in an old russian power plant, or something that could easily be interpreted as some kind of scientific instrument. So I made this retro looking system, with a custom watercooling. Since in the 1950s plastic tubing wouldn't be a viable option (and it also would have looked like sh!t, in combination with the rest), I used copper, brass and stainless steal fittings and tubes only. But why do I even bother to describe? Just take a look for yourself.

A general impression of the build:

Actually, it is a terrible design for repairing or modifying something. In order to get to the actual hardware, you have to loosen eight screws, disconnect the fans and the pump, and carefully lift the whole upper part, including the radiator, the pump and the reservoir. It is managable, but it is way more bothersome than just untightening two screws. Here a picture of the opened case:

The right section  of the PC (here bottom left) is the part, where the whole electronics for displaying the numbers on the nixie tubes is situated. Also, a regular D5 pump is screwed to the lid, you can estimate it's location by following the  metal tubes. Here a closeup of the electronics:

But I haven't even spoken about the most important part! Actually, since the beginning, I also had another purpose in mind for the PC. It was designed to be a heated surface, right next to where a human would be a great amount of time. In other words, it is a very nice cat resting place. My cat Günter already claimed it.

Oh, and I guess you guys also want to know the actual hardware. Here you go:
    -Ryzen 3800x
    -Geforce 1080ti
    -16GB Ram
    -500GB NVME SSD
    -1TB S-ATA SSD
    -2TB HDD
    -8TB HDD
    -MB: Gigabyte GA-AX370M-Gaming 3

I hope, you guys like it! If any question remain, I would be happy to answer them.

PS: The idea and design for this build was actually created, before ltt created their copper tube build. But since I am a poor student, and all parts together were like 2000€, I had to save quite a while for it. Whatever, I guess neither they nor I were the first ones to actually use copper tubes. So, Whatever.

@USMCallinan Honestly I don't want to make this reply but I am getting a bit tired of seeing this ... continue.

Including and not including myself, I know many people that are not certified and are far more qualified to do the work you say people need to be certified on. Certification is just a minimum standard to meet and that standard isn't always a necessity. Spouting all this about getting certified is just a way to tell people to fall in line with what is generally accepted. I don't agree with this one bit, I get taking the classes and wanting to have a cert to show off that you "know" something but I also know more people that are certified and are the worst in their field, narrow minded and incapable of following up or following through on the theories or have a lack in developing some understanding past what they are taught in school by the individual teaching the class.

Now this is in no way an insult to you, but if you are calling yourself a teacher or professor in the is field you should also be taking the position that a certification is only the start not the Be-All and End-All of the profession. You strike me as the type that teaches that certification IS the Be-All and End-All of the profession.

I suggest to you [if you don't already] start opening yourself up to concept I just laid out. I didn't allow my teachers to limit my thinking in the same manner you have done in this thread. BTW I was Homeschooled 7-12th and was given the opportunity to see a much larger picture in learning than I ever did in the public setting and then turned around and challenged my professors in college to educate me to the highest expectation with the goal to open to my eyes beyond limiting myself to an accepted standard. I was known to call out professors for teaching limitations and they didn't like me very well for, lol, I just told them it was personal problem on their end.

Your initial opening comment was in some way expected and understandable as you and many others can appreciate the need to have that cert in hand to prove they have the background to give the instruction they provide. After that, subsequent comments just sadden me in the fear you would take the path you did. Certs aren't all that they are ... given to in value as they ought to have.

Lastly this debate has pros and cons and both sides of the argument have valid and constructive points but taking one side over the other is a fallacy and I can both argue for having and not having a cert in any area of study. Taking the position that one needs to be certified to be accepted is seriously flawed since we all know better, including yourself.

    Apologies for the lengthy comment.

@GDRRiley @NZgamer @Bananasplit_00 @Dabombinable @huilun02  An illusion, just another China? What ever happened to the process of bills to be become laws, free elections, free speech and the entire rest of American law. Just because the government misinterpreted the 5th amendment doesn't mean that America's democracy is an illusion or an authoritarian government hellbent on destroy all rights. Because American law is open to opinion, change and interpretation this means that it can be can be changed or interpreted incorrectly. Look at every other time in American history, something was happening that was against the constitution and people rights were infringed on. The 1860's had slaves which clearly went against everything that America stood for. Look at the second amendment, its 300 hundred years old and we are still figuring it out today.  The reason why America was started was because a group of intellectuals felt that their rights had been infringed on and they wanted CHANGE. The whole point of America is to change and be revised for the benefit of its citizens. This revision was a horrible one that goes against what we stand for. I believe that it will be fixed because of the rights and the irrevocably privileges given to use by our non-illusory democracy. To say that the whole American democracy is an illusion/China because of horrible change in the law is pathetic. Rhetoric like this is the reason why this law might never be changed. To sit back in your chair and say,"Oh America is just another China, our/their rights are just an illusion." If Abraham Lincoln had said, yes American democracy would be an illusion, but since he fought for the rights of his citizens and since he and so many others in our history have fought to keep our democracy a real and living part of our existence, it is no illusion, it is a real and beautiful reality.
That is the kinda of talk we need, as Americans it is our job to incite change.

I ordered a dual slot rear bracket and after about 20 days of waiting, it has arrived.

I needed it since the XC Ultra card had a Triple slot rear bracket that could not fit on the Cooler Master Vertical GPU Mount. Initially my build had temporarily no bracket and the GPU was loose.

This also allowed me to reposition the radiator, giving my build a cleaner look.
