Dedayog got a reaction from RevGAM in what cooler should i upgrade to
Correct.  You note that it's pushing heat up and out,but it's also taking HOT air off the back of the GPU.  That air can't cool the CPU, as it's saturated already.

You want  the cool air from the front to feed into the front of the CPU Cooler and out the back of the PC.  Do that.

Dedayog reacted to porina in Samsung 990 Pro - is it worth a buy ?
On that page you link are synthetic tests. The same capacity MP700 is about the only drive that beats it more often than not on the data as presented.

Skip forwards and the MP700 barely beats it overall, with a lot of the drives there much of a muchness. If anything the takeaway from this is that even a mid range drive hardly makes a difference in practice.

These websites are bullshit, frankly. All they do is cause threads like this where people read them, don't understand what they're being told and are suddenly worried about "bottlenecks" stealing all their performance.

A 12700k is plenty powerful enough to support a 4070 Super.

There is your obvious starting point.  Identifying what you have vs what you need.

You know what to do, you just need to do it.

Also, put a good bit of energy into realizing it's not your house, it may be your home, but it's not your house.  Use that as impetus to pare down a little since other people live there and pay for your "storage".

Dedayog got a reaction from loony979 in Help with overclocking
You can, but it won't be worth much if anything.  A little more oomph out of a weak chip isn't enough to make it worth while, especially since you have to work to OC a non K chip.

Leave it be  and save up for new stuff.

I suspect binning for the 7950x3D. The 7900x3D having the same 52.5x multiplier potentially being becaues there's 2 less cores, but it hits a limit before reaching that in my testing before direct die.

I'm adding new screenshots of runs to this thread as well for my personal reference:

Remember the "revolutionary" graphics that Fallout 76 was supposed to have?

I hate how they release a half-assed game and rely on modders to finish it and make it "good".  They're manipulators and fraudsters these days.

I did it all before the spacers arrived for my NH-D15, and it was at least an hour. Absolutely terrifying since I hadn't attempted a BOOT yet without a cooler.

Depends what games, resolution, settings, expectations you have.

    In a vacuum, I'd upgrade the CPU/mobo/RAM to 13th gen or AM5.

But asking your question as you did.... we have no idea what is in your mind, wallet, or even region.   And yes, you should break up with your girlfriend.

i feel like I responded to this inquiry before when they were asking about pcie power connectors, the 7800XT is a sub 300 watt card, their existing power supply is fine for it, they don’t need to upgrade

That should be more than plenty as its not doing any video work, just handing files over the network. Your gonna be network/disk limited here, not CPU.

If you want good video editing performance, you probably should get local ssds.

You're not upgrading, you want an entire new machine + monitor?

Your  budget is too wide, narrow it down to a number.  A 2500 setup is very different than a 5000 setup.

For what you want, 3000 is more than enough for a balling 1440p setup.  Something like this is a great bang for buck, using the best CPU in the world for gaming, and the #2 arguably gaming GPU.  4080 Super if you want Nvidia.

You really should look elsewhere for TV reviews.  LTT is not an audio/video review site in any way shape or form, and you may get a recommendation or two from us users.  At best a starting point to do real research, maybe.

Its good enough if you're okay with those temps,  cuz most likely the CPU isn';t throttling.  So it means it isn't too hot to use.

For MY taste, no it's not enough though.  I prefer to overcool.
