You should check Logitech keyboard/Corsair/Ducku to name a few. I wouldn't go razer unless it old version with cherry MX switches but razer is just overpriced in general.

ElectroShock reacted to Briggsy in Looking for volunteers with Fiji GPUs to figure out ASIC Quality
W1zzard over at techpowerup is looking for volunteers with Fiji based Graphic cards (Fury, FuryX, Nano) to help him get data for the GPU-Z tool.

    The original post is http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/looking-for-volunteers-with-fiji-gpus-to-figure-out-asic-quality.220266/

send W1zzard a private message over at techpowerup.com and ask for special instructions to help him test Fiji ASIC quality. It's just a simple test that takes a minute. With enough volunteers maybe those of us with Fiji based cards will get to see our ASIC quality in the not-to-distant future.

Just wait for the new GPUs to see if the performance is worth it to you. Even if it isn't, you may very well get a discount on the 980 Ti or similar.

ElectroShock reacted to Lays in Some testing of mine on DDR4 vs DDR3
I've been messing around with Z170 since I got it a few weeks ago, and comparing my old DDR3 kit at a really high overclock versus my DDR4 kit at a really high overclock, there is quite a significant difference from what I've seen so far.

I know synthetics aren't necessarily an indicator of real-world performance, but none the less it's still a big increase.

Program used: Aida 64 Extreme "Memory & Cache benchmark"
If you look at the "Memory" line, you'll see the big increase on DDR4.

    DDR3 @ 2800 Mhz 9-12-12-17 1T:

    DDR4 @ 4000 Mhz 12-12-12-28 2T:

Obviously it isn't indicative of 24/7 usage as you can't run clocks like this 24/7, but it's still interesting to see the huge "performance" increase.  Also seeing as DDR4 is getting cheaper and cheaper by the day makes less and less sense to go back to DDR3 if you're thinking about upgrading / getting a new platform.

I actually watched the video last night....I understand what he is saying.

Only thing is that he targeted Linus, even though Linus specifically said if the product has a warranty, don't bake it and instead go through the RMA process.

He only did it because it was samples and didn't have a warranty and it was dead. SO what more does he have to lose?

I might have taken the video more seriously if he didn't use such a bitchy tone the entire time.
He has some reasonable points but no one is going to listen to him if he talks in such a patronizing manner to the people he is trying to inform.
He needs to clam down and talk in a more professional manner.

ElectroShock reacted to Majestic in Nvidia 9xx asynchronous compute
But it currently isn't "swiping the floor". That sort of superlative would be reserved if they beat them on a substantial margin, like 40-50% or higher. The 380 clearly beats the 960, no question. The 970, once on DX12, clearly loses to the 390. The 980 and 390X are pretty much tied. And the Fury X beats the 980TI. With the added caveat that current tests that are out are between factory overclocked AMD cards, versus tame/reference Nvidia cards (that are supposedly not unlocked, but i'm going to assume this is marketing BS).

By significant margins, but not by landslides to warrant such superlatives. Nothing unlike we've seen the 980TI do in all the major DX11 titles in the past two years. And i'm going to wait for A. more games with DX12, B. nvidia's claimed "support" for async, C. what vulcan is doing, which I think is more important if we want to finally get rid of being forced to windows, D. how much async is going to be actually implemented by developers not being funded by AMD (c'mon, they've been advertising if for quite some time), before i'm really picking a side on this debate. Right now, the only thing i'm trying to do is provide a dampening factor on atleast some of the hype and superlatives being hurled around.

    As for the current online discussions;
All i'm seeing, is people that have been in denial about objective performance now suddently don't have to be in denial anymore, since they have objectivity on their side now (actually being better), yet are being extremely smug and obnoxious about it. They've completely jumped the shark and went from playing the victim card with gameworks, to mocking nvidia customers about Asynchonous Compute. Which is basically the same thing as Gameworks represented for AMD with Tessallation. It ran poorly because AMD lacked the drawcall throughput and Tessellation efficiency, not because it was "black box".

But somehow, this is supposed to be good for all people (eventhough 80% of the market has nvidia), as opposed to Tessellation being evil, black box and nefarious of intent. It's incredibly hypocritical if you ask me. And the worst thing is, is that the people being incredibly smug and unapologeticly hyping this, were the same people crying wolf with Gameworks.

We've done a full 180 now. And noone sees the irony of it.

The main issue I would see with this is latency or inference problems since they specifically design traces on the board to be a certain lengths and even create extra turns if needed to make some longer.

Well, the key thing to remember about V-Sync is that it isn't just an FPS cap; it makes sure that your frame output is always in sync with your monitor. Unfortunately that means if you drop below 60fps on a 60Hz monitor, it doesn't drop to 59fps; that wouldn't be in sync. Instead it suddenly drops to 30fps, then when you can maintain 60fps again it jumps back up. This causes huge stuttering problems if your framerate is in the 55-65fps area hovering back and forth, as it's constantly switching between 30fps and 60fps.

Basically, memory leak is a situation, where the system/program uses it's allocated resources incorrectly, resulting in abundance of used RAM. It happens, when for example a program is closed, or attempts to clear it's data stored on RAM but fails to do so.

60%: Look for deals on Ducky Mini or Vortex Pok3r
TKL: CM Storm Rapid is probably the best option if you can find one. The standard Corsair K65 is usually under $100 but has non-standard bottom row. Tesoro Tizona and Tt eSports Poseidon ZX are around your price range but are from less reputable brands.

And as always, you should keep checking Massdrop.com. They often have cheaper boards in wide variety of layouts and sizes. However the shipping times can be long.
