Don't ya' just hate it when the easiest problem to fix is the most difficult problem to find? Good luck and I hope that you found the culprit and have been able to get a fix going.

Arhub reacted to Skiiwee29 in Enthoo Evolv ATX
as an owner of the Enthoo Evolv ATX case, i can tell you it is 10000000% horrible for air flow. I have a modded front cover from @Mnpctech and a modded top from @ModMyMods-Brennen to improve the airflow. WIthout this, (On my old 6700k with a Cyrorig R1 Ultimate air cooler) my cpu temps would be in the upper 70s and low 80s when gaming and streaming. As soon as I would take the front cover off, temps would drop into the low to mid 60s. Honestly, for case reviews, I trust Gamers Nexus as they actually test the functionality of it and how impactful things are against the thermals. If you plan to air cool, DO NOT get this case. I honestly wouldnt recommend it at all truthfully. I have had mine for a little over a year now.

Because the airflow is simply not enough fore the amount of heat those components pump out.
However I did not suggest the next logical step was to get a $200 case, as the Enthoo Pro M TG and Meshify C are the two cases I recommend in this instance.

You could make or buy something with SSD dimensions and stick it in there. It would basically be an SSD cover without the SSD. You could do it yourself similar to a GPU back-plate. This place here has some if you want to buy one or you can always make it yourself. Mounting might be finicky though as you aren't attaching it to an SSD but rather in place of it though.

My girlfriends computer I just built for her has two mounting bays for SSD's on the bottom (NZXT S340) but we only installed one SSD.
She did a sticker collage on the SSD that was installed then at work I cut out a piece of 1/4" thick stainless steel plate to the dimensions of an SSD and she covered that in stickers as well. Looks really good and goes with the colour/theme of her build.
Good luck!

For an 8700K and 1080, you'd see maybe 400W of power draw. A Corsair RM550x or EVGA G3 550W would be fine for you. For a 1080 Ti I'd up it to 650W for either of those. Check out the Bitfenix Whisper and Seasonic Focus Gold as well.

Whisper M 550W, RM550x/i and Straight Power 11 550W. If you don't care as much about noise, the G2, G3, Focus Plus Gold and Leadex are some options. 550W is plenty for an overclocked 1080 Ti system.
If you for some reason want the ability to get a multi-GPU system, you can add the Prime Ultra and T2 750/850W.

If your budget supports over 100$ for a PSU then I would recommend you this one: https://www.bequiet.com/en/powersupply/1254 It's rated at 750W and full modular^^

Arhub reacted to TVwazhere in H700i VS S340 Elite
Simply put, The S340's design only allows for so much airflow to pass through it without modding or putting industrial grade engines that legitimately sound like jet turbines. As a personal rule of thumb, (this isnt an official measurement) I dont recommend any components that get much hotter than an R5 series and a 1060 6GB/ 580 8GB, as the S340 would then struggle to keep everything cool. Thats not to say you couldnt get away with slapping a 1070/1080 in there, but you start to run the risk of thermal dissipation not being able to keep up with the heat.
