You should cancel that imediately and go for the 3700x instead.
The 3800x is basicly a 3700x in disguise. GamersNexus covered this. Your not getting much performance gain for the price you pay. And you can OC the 3700x to pretty much the same as 3800x.

Aslong as you plug the fans into your motherboard with the RGB header everything will be controllable with RGB fusion

Agree with this 100%. You can see the only non Corsair things in my build are the board, and my GPU. I just have the board set to white, becuase Asus Aura Sync has a tendency to not load, or to cause iCue to crash on my system for some reason.

I've got the 2666Mhz 32GB (2x16GB) kit of white RGB. No issues with it. Corsair iCue is a tad crowded with everything though, lol.

Specs are in my signature, and I can get some pics if you want @Catchears

Tomahawk can handle a perfectly fine OC on the 3700x. It can even OC 3900x.

You should be perfectly fine all the way up to the 3900x.

Apparently 3733mhz is the sweet spot, as mentioned above.

From what i've seen, it can make a noticeable difference at higher FPS when comparing RAM speeds like 2133 vs 3600. By significant i mean over 20% in some cases.

    this vid explains it.

Okay i understand. But if possible you should try get the 50$ difference between 2600x and 3600. The IPC increase and higher clockspeeds are amazing. 3600 4.0 ghz vs 2600x 4.0 ghz the 3600 is as promised 15% faster.

@Koxicain Thank you for posting I was looking for approximate price for this board and this was the first useful bit of information that I found.

If you dont intend on going full corsair i would personally go for the G.Skills.
I dont know if Corsair sticks supports Aura sync if theres no labelling of Corsair supporting it the chances are slim.

Because that’s a huge FPS boost and play I can sell my 2700x for $200 and only spend $130

Whichever is cheaper.. They are both great boards and should hold up for 3rd gen. I personally used the Gaming 7 previously and I liked it a lot.. The Taichi, from what I hear is just as good so its honestly up to you.. The VRMs are top notch on both of them so don't listen to anyone telling you one is better than the other, they will both be fine in this regard, for your use case anyway..

It will support from 4cores - 16 cores 32 threads. You forgot the 3950x is also supported on X570  and your right for 6-8 Core x570 is overkill. Go with x470.

As for the 64c rumors say it will be Threadripper not Epyc. But Threadripper has been taken off the roadmap so no one knows if its coming back or whats going to happen. People only have rumors and speculation.

Leaks say 3950x will destroy the 9980XE both in single and multithreaded performance. And theres still no information that AMD is launching a new threadripper this year. There are rumours they will throw out a 64c128T but no facts.

Koxicain reacted to Mathieu9836 in X470 board prep in case x570 too expensive ( bios help)
The X570 chipset is irevelant IMO if you don't plan to use a very fast Storage device, if you want to buy the next gen PCIe 4.0 GPUs or want the overkill VRMs. Actual Storage devices dont need more than PCIE gen 3 lanes, so there is no NEED for PCIE gen 4 right now. The Asus x470 ROG Strix-F Gaming is well enough for the next gen Ryzen, the Asrock Taichi, Asus Crosshair VII and the Aorus Gaming 7 will handle the 16 cores for anything except LN2 extreme overclock. Look at price and features of X470 and X570 boards when they come out and see what you really need.

Manufacturers claim that the sticks from kits are all from the same batch and hence have the same tolerances etc, improving stability and performance etc etc.
Personally I've never seen any difference compared to individually purchased sticks of the same model.

Perhaps this would be a good topic for an LTT "$h!t manufacturers say" video?

depends entirely what is plugged into it. it goes back to a single usb 3.0 so still has 5gbps bandwidth. the hub has

    2 of the HDDs
    keyboard
    x52
    button box
    track IR
    mouse

the 2 HDDs have the highest bandwidth requirement which is maaaybe 2gbps IF they were both at 100%, which they never are.

and everything else has such a minimal requirement that it does not matter
