Sounds good, I swapped the board for the one you suggested in your earlier build.

A bit of necro, but I realized they did this in November, five months after I made this post. Probably a coincidence.

Navbryce got a reaction from 8uhbbhu8 in Google Finalizes Billion Dollar Deal with HTC
The news is pretty short (and sweet): Article from Ars Technica

In short, HTC sold a majority of its phone division to Google for a little more than a billion dollars. Google officially announced the deal's closure (completion) today.

Google wants HTC mobile employees to augment their existing mobile division. Both the Google Pixel (Standard and XL) and Google Pixel 2 were a collaborative effort between Google's mobile team and HTC. The article states that by purchasing part of HTC, Google wants to improved control in the design process and more unity between the pixel phones. In other words, Google wants to be more independent from third-parties. They don't want to rely on companies like HTC (and LG) to design and manufacture their phones.

So why did HTC sell such a large portion of their company?
HTC is hemorrhaging money. Their mobile division has had a couple big flops with the HTC One M9 and especially the HTC U Ultra.

As a former HTC One M8 owner and a current Google Pixel 2 user, I'm extremely excited about this deal. I don't know if it will help Google improve the quality of their phones, but it at least implies that Google will continue the Pixel series. Maybe Google will even be able to compete with the Samsung Galaxy and IPhone (in market share) in a couple years...

I liked the M8 :). Terrible camera though. Also the Pixel 2 is manufactured by HTC, and (so far) it seems to be made well--unlike LG's Pixel 2 XL.

Hmmm. This is actually sort of hilarious. I seriously doubt somebody who is trying to maliciously steal your information (or picture) would make your ipad randomly emit "MOM, get the camera!" They would try to make their malicious software as inconspicuous as possible, so they could collect the maximum amount of data. The user would try to remove the malicious software (such as through wiping the memory), if the user believe it resided on their system.

In reality, prices will go down if the (or a specific cryptocurrency) Cryptocurrency market crashes, especially for used graphics cards on ebay.

AIO's (at least ones with 120mm radiators) don't perform THAT much better than Hyper Evo 212...especially when you compare it to the price. Also, some air coolers, especially the "super-duty" noctua ones, perform better than some AIO's.

They shouldn't hit, the capacitors should be lower than the height of the pcie slot, and I'm pretty sure the ATX standards have non-interference areas to avoid things like that happening.

Most likely you aren't getting the tabs on the card into their slots on the rear panel.  Check to see if one of them is bent at all.

If nothing is bent and you're pretty sure you're hitting those caps, you can confirm this by putting a drop of whiteout on the top of the caps, then attempting to install the card.  If you get whiteout on the card, it is in fact hitting.

Well if you're sure the caps are blocking your GPU from fitting, you'll have to use on of the other PCI-E slots on your motherboard. Or.... you can try modding the card to make it fit, however that would most definitely void the warranty.

Navbryce got a reaction from This kid builds pc in Fitting stuck on radiator
It's hard for me to see in the photo, but if your fitting has little divots (Two at the top, two at the bottom) like this one. On the actual fitting, not the ring:

You can just stick like a knife (or Popsicle stick/something skinny) and turn. You get a ton of torque and it doesn't slip. In fact, I feel like XSPC included the divots just for that reason.

The picture sorta looks like you don't have them though . I know your fitting is male to male btw and the one above is compression, but it doesn't hurt to look.

    Hey guys, sadly some of the methods like wd 40 did not work so I ended up using it in my build as a way to connect my 5 way adapter to my drain valve and other fittings. Thank you all for the suggestions.;

Navbryce reacted to Windows7ge in Which board should I use
Just for the sake of future proofing I would use the DDR3 motherboard. If it uses DDR3 I would also expect it to have more up to date features like SATAIII and pci_e express 2.0 or higher. There's also the matter of more up to date controllers on the board which may result in better performance. More strictly speaking the performance gain you would notice would be dependant on the use case.

Well you obviously have something running in the background to be using that much RAM. It's not "overclocking" itself, it's turboing to a faster frequency, so obviously something is pushing it hard.

Navbryce got a reaction from Zando_ in Confused on how to install Vapoursynth on Linux
First all of all, it never hurts to try "sudo apt-get install <INSERT NAME HERE>". If that doesn't work, did you download a specific file/folder? If it's in the form of a deb., do "sudo dpkg -i (or -install) <INSERT FILE NAME HERE>". If it in the form of a folder, look for a directory named "bin" inside of it. Inside that directory, look for a file name like <INSERT NAME HERE>.sh. Try running <INSERT NAME HERE>.sh.
