If the side opposite the male thread has a threaded hole then it is the M.2 standoff and there should be a tiny screw that screws into the top of it.

Snipergod87 got a reaction from Hi P in GPU Overclocking Question
    1) If it a 10 series card from nvidia it wont matter really, GPU boost 3 pushes it to the limit already and the card will auto dial back your OC at certain temperature targets like 72C i believe

    2) rendering, anytask that can use GPU acceleration, video encoding, some adobe work, etc, but see above.

Also in a production environment you will want at least 2 different domain controllers, but for testing purposes one is fine, reason being if one AD controller gets messed up the domain can still function.

Snipergod87 got a reaction from Aaron_Blue01 in Decide between refurbished computers pls
Second one has better processor, is a full sized case if you want to upgrade GPU in the future, and 8x the RAM.  Much better value. if you wanted to get the first one to those specs it would cost much more than the ~30 price difference.

Also 20TB of archival spare under 6k is possible just for the server alone, not sure what your networking is, if you want a UPS and redundant power
If you need to more space to grow costs add up quickly, a 12TB drive is ~500 for a SAS or SATA one, and you would want to be running RAID 6 or RAID 10 unless you want to dabble into Storage Spaces and ReFS (but would still be a software version of RAID 10 or 6).
However ReFS doesn't have the same level of NTFS permissions, but prevents against bitrot.

I would agree, it sounds like you don't know exactly what you are doing, and fixing a mistake is more expensive than having someone set it up right in the first place.

you can't really overclock it much on a blower fan cooler as even at out of the box settings these things already reach 80c+ whille screaming it's ass like there's no tomorrow.

The recovery partition in general is supposed to be pretty full.
What you want to do is remove the drive letter assigned to is so Windows will not complain, in general the recovery partition should not have a drive litter assigned.

DAC cables do not need transceivers, that switch can only take 2x DAC or 2xSFP+ on those uplink ports
Something to note is not all switches work with all transceivers or DAC cables.
In general transceivers never come with a switch, but if you are using DAC then you don't need them.

If you want affordable transceivers try fs.com

You could have the xBox for easy access to stream apps (or use a smart TV) and either get a Steamlink or a small PC to stream games from a gaming PC in your house (assuming you have one)

What phone and how was it wiped? some phones will securely erase everything making it unrecoverable.
You can look for apps that can do datarecovery, but the more the phone is used the less likely you will be able to recover data.
And the recovery should be written onto a SD card or something, not directly onto the phones memory as it might overwrite data you are trying to recover
