This lame garbage is pretty much being mained to compensate for the crypto crash of big companies who were too dumb to predict it earlier. Nothing more really.

About 6 or 7ish years.  Think the RX-V100D lasted 5 or 6.  Had a free Yamaha someone was throwing out before that for 4 years and before that I got a Sherwood 2 channel and a Panasonic powered sub for free from a house clearance my father and I done.  The Sherwood lasted about 4 years I think.  I still use the sub.  My speakers aren't much to write about either.  Two Panasonic's for the fronts.  (These came from my teenage hi-fi system I got when I was 13) two Aiwa for the rear and one of a pair of JVCs my uncle gave me for the center.  Both my cinema/music and my PC sound setups are all second hand parts.  I just swap out the dead stuff as I go.  I use a Presonus Audiobox 96USB for my PC with a set of second hand sennheiser 579s and some cheapy powered monitors

I just stick with mainstream Yammys.  I usually pick them up fro 60-80 quid second hand.  Use them until they die and pick another up.  Been through 4 now i think

After waiting what feels like 4 months it's finally ready! My custom order for an EL34 tube amp is finalized.

Why is the noise floor so darn high!? My speakers are sensitive AF. They're 4" fullrange drivers. It sounds amazing but that noise floor tho.

Found a GBA at a garage sale for 5$, it was nasty and didn’t turn on, I took it all apart, cleaned it up, and it works like it’s new

People need to stop misusing the term "scalper".

Just because something is expensive does not mean it is being scalped. Just because someone sells something for a lot of money does not mean that someone is a scalper.

A scalper is someone who buys a lot of something with the intention of driving up prices and then sell their stock at a greater cost than what they paid.
Retailers are not scalpers since they are part of the regular supply chain. It is not scalping to raise prices because of things like short supply, high demand or increased costs such as shipping or tariffs.

Want a real explanation for these prices? It's because shipping things is fucked right now. It is extremely slow and expensive, and this is multiplied several times over for things like GPUs because they require multiple stages of shipping.

Mancave in the attic. So it is used, but I plan my resin prints carefully. I also don't do a lot of resin printing in general, I really bought it for getting those high details on miniatures and such.

I have no idea how to do that, not used prusa slicer myself (using Cura for FDM and Halot Box for resin), and while I've learned a lot in the almost 3 weeks that I've owned them, I'm still figuring some stuff out.

This has been my biggest project yet. Custom deckbox for my fully custom deck for the game Unmatched. I want to make those 'lips' on the cover a little bigger just to make it a little tighter. It does keep closed, but I feel it's a bit too easy to get it out, and afraid this might happen during transport.

It's truly fun to design something in your head, draw it out, take your measurements and start modeling it, only to see it come to life on your printer.

For gaming I really love Sennheiser open backs. The Sennheiser HD559 is excellent. They are very comfortable and non-fatiguing. The 559 is sold around $80. There is no need for a headphone amp. Even your phone can power them.

You can also purchase the 599 for $160, but I doubt that it will be a significant upgrade over the 559.

Closer Acoustics OGY and REL T5X. The disappointing Klipsch RP600M made me do this! The OGY are the tiniest transmission line speakers, they use full-range EMS LB5 drivers. No cross-over to muck the mids.

Spent the weekend trying to find the difference in sound. Returned. I guess I'll think about a dac/amp again only if I get some power hungry headphones.

I am thinking of KEEPS. It's some kind of off the counter medication to prevent hair loss. They sponsored a bunch of YouTubers & Streamers. For the longest time Donut Media was sponsored by KEEPS. They're a car channel FYI.

I suppose it depends on your line of work. I work in IT so use a (mini) box cutter throughout the day for opening router boxes, cutting zip ties, heat shrink tube, etc etc. I'm not a drywaller or carpet installer so prefer something that's compact enough to live in my front pocket versus a heavy duty weapon of mass cutting.
