Afaik there's usually something in the monitors settings you have to make sure is enabled, the manual from asus says it'll be in the image tab>adaptive-sync/freesync.

Telebubbies got a reaction from Ben17 in Best router for 10G internet?
Hey guys. I am moving into a new place that has 10gbps internet (it was only like 10 euros more a month than the 2gbps package). Issue is, my current router (XR500) has a maximum WAN speed of 1gbps.
The official internet speed of my new house will be 8gbps download and 600mbps upload, with my ISP also saying the upload also having a "burst" of 1200mbps.
I know that 10 gigs is complete overkill, but the pricing isn't bad at all.
Can anyone recommend a router that has a 10 gigabit WAN with some 10gbps LAN ethernet ports too?
I also saw that I will need to upgrade my ethernet to CAT7 to support 10gbps. Is that the right cable I would need?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Seems like the mobo could be frying your components.. Take your PC to a PC shop and they can test it with a different mobo. If that is the case, just get another one and everything should be fine.

It does not really matter. But I highly recommend a Western Digital Blue hard drive. They tend to be more reliable and has a less fail rate than Seagate drives.

Telebubbies got a reaction from Rob_2016 in Cleaning graphics card?
Hey guys! I have a MSI GTX 970, and as you know, all MSI cards have a very beefy heatsink. So anyway, I was wondering if compressed air can get the dust out of the heatsink? I read somewhere that it can actually destroy components, is this true?
If it is true, how can I clean the heatsink to decrease the GPU temps?

GTX 980 ti. And the price should be decreasing in about 2-4 weeks.

Unfortunately, you do not have a graphics card. You cannot improve it.

If you are using Windows 10, follow these steps:

    1.  Go to settings
    2. Navigate to "Update & Security".
    3. Click on "recovery".
    4. Click on "Get Started" under "reset this PC".

This will wipe everything on the hard drive except the OS. You do NOT need to type the licence key back in. This process will take a could hours - all depends on the PC speeds.

Telebubbies reacted to Glenwing in New rx480 crossfire question
With AMD you can crossfire different cards as long as they use the same GPU, even if they are different configurations. For example, an R9 280X uses a Tahiti GPU with all 2048 cores enabled, while the R9 280 uses a Tahiti GPU with only 1792 cores enabled. Those two cards are compatible in crossfire. But the R9 285, which uses a Tonga core with 1792 cores enabled, is not compatible in crossfire with the others.

Get the i5. Depending on what CPU you have now, it might bottleneck.

Telebubbies reacted to ace_cheaply in thermal paste on back of cpu
I would highly advise not touching the motherboard pins at all if you can avoid it.  When you pull the cpu out, take a look at the round pinheads and see if any paste is on them.  Hopefully you wiped enough off of the cpu that it didn't spread to the socket.  Wiping pins with any but the most gentle of touches using a needle or similarly thin tool is likely to bend them. If it's running normally, I would just wipe the bottom of the cpu and then let it dry for a couple hours at least. If you can't go without your computer this weekend then do it before you go to sleep, and let it dry overnight.  Leave the socket alone, imho.
