I never needed it. At one point in time, I was experimenting with different locations for some of my servers, and one configuration I was debating switching to required an insane length of ethernet cord. I might check out that third party software if the need ever arises again.

Yea, there is no good way to clean a keyboard without removal of the keys to get at the caps and switches. Its near impossible to get inbetween there to get down to where the gunk builds up without this. It would only take 1-1.5hrs depending on how bad it is and if you remembered to take a picture of your keys to remember where they all go

The average consumer is likely to have a cheap 20-30$ walmart keyboard they dont care about. if it starts not working properly, they're not going to spend the time to clean a keyboard they can just throw away and go buy a new one to replace it.

I just started taking Intro To Information Technology this semester (Freshman year highschool) and the teacher is an idiot. He says that the CPU is the tower part of the computer. He says that Steve Jobs invented the GUI. And when you try to correct him you are wrong. There was this one time he told us there are 1000MB in a GB. I said well its not exactly 1000 right. And he replied well its more like 900. SCREW YOU!!!!!!!!!! That is all. End Rant.

There aren't programs to automatically shutdown processes using CPU, well that aren't viruses. You're going to have to take charge and decide what to kill. If you have a bunch of task that are using a lot of CPU then you should investigate as to why they are using so much.

While I don't condone just going Rambo on Windows' Processes, I don't think that you'd brick your install from killing a Windows process. Windows would just see it as some unexpected error and kill the system. Or in the case of explorer.exe, you'll just lose your taskbar, start menu and not be able to do anything with your windows, which from then you might as well just restart.

Once again, I don't condone the idea of going Rambo on your Windows Processes.

May not be that simple of a repair. Old houses used old wiring. Hell the house I live in has Aluminum  and Copper wiring. The former is no longer allowed under code. The breaker could be bad also, so you have to replace the breaker, the wiring and the socket. It might be a bigger job. Electrical and Gas you 2 things you dont fuck with if you dont know what you are doing. Its always better to let a pro look at it and know its done right. Better off with a pro then having the house burn down with all your shit and have to fight with the insurance company.

I have not done that and you shouldn't need to unless Windows freaks out about something. And to run a program in compatibility mode right click it and click properties-compatibility and select the OS in which you would like to attempt to run it in.

Quantum1 reacted to Scheer in Server Power Supplies and Fan Headers
The fan header is a fairly common one for server gear, most HP stuff uses that connector, I've seen it on both Delta and Nitec fans. Not a clue what to call it though... sorry. I've never seen them that close together... typically there isn't a wire on the fan, the connector is directly mounted. Connector is the bottom right of the fan in the picture.

The reasoning for the missing voltages is that you are missing a component there. Those rectifiers feed a power distribution module which will likely create your 5v or 3.3v depending on which is missing from that specific rectifier. This is an example of one.

You absolutely CANNOT mix and match this stuff though, you have to find the exact part that was supposed to match up with it. You shouldn't have a problem here since the connectors shouldn't match up unless they were meant for each other but you never know... its not worth the risk unless you are absolutely sure they are supposed to be plugged into one another.

If your boards use standard connectors, I'd recommend just buying a normal PSU. In case you haven't heard one of those server units running yet, I'll warn you that they are crazy loud. Putting it in a closet down in the basement isn't enough, its something you want to run in the garden shed...

Quantum1 reacted to Constantine in Windows 10 is uninstalling user apps without permission
I booted up my PC today and found message from Win10 saying that CPU-Z is no longer compatible with this version of Windows and decides on its own to remove the program from user space along with other programs that Microsoft doesn't like and starts replacing them with their own Windows apps.

Its even removed AMD Catalyst Control Centre and installed its own Win10 drivers.

I search around and for some reason nobody is covering this. Apparently its been happening unnoticed with Windows uninstalling programs and even sometimes Steam Games.
It would be nice if anybody knew a way to turn this off.

But seriously, What kind of communist bullshit is this? If this is going to be Microsoft's last Windows release, then they still don't know what the fuck they're doing.

I mean, if you apply an update and it suddenly breaks user apps, then THERE'S SOMETHING FUCKING WRONG WITH YOUR UPDATE!
YOU DON'T FUCKING REMOVE SHIT THAT'S NOT YOURS
