It will be printed on the board

Hi

I've got gigabyte's mother board x58a ud3r, and I'm about to format the pc.

How can I check what rev. is my motherboard?
Cpu-z said rev 13 and on the site it's either rev 1 or rev 2.

Gigabyte boards have the revision number on the lower left of the board. You could also download CPU-Z  and go to the mainboard tab to see the revision number.

Some board have a lot of revisions. I've seen boards with over 15 revisions. They do revisions to fix bugs with the BIOS or hardware on the board.

I have not done that and you shouldn't need to unless Windows freaks out about something. And to run a program in compatibility mode right click it and click properties-compatibility and select the OS in which you would like to attempt to run it in.
