u should go 4 cores, as u wont need more.

Having 4 cores and higher Ghz is better then 6 or 8 cores with lower Ghz

What yo u want is the highest Ghz you can possibly get for a single core and for the 4 cores working all the the same time.

also if your monitor is like 60hz and a 1080p no kidding a 2080 will hardly have to work to run those games.

    A 2080 could easelly run a 4k monitor

It isnt a bottleneck the GPU simply has nothing to do. Its like giving a bodybuilder a 20kg weight to lift.

as long as you dont have low fps as in under your monitor Hz it does not matter what your video card runs at. Find a program to stress test your video card like Furmark, that will make the GPU go to 100%

SwiftXShadow reacted to Skiiwee29 in heat free Build?
For "heat free" your best option is to get something like a Raspberry PI and load up a linux distro on it and use that. About the lowest amount of heat you will find. Or maybe one of those intel PCs on a stick if they still exist.

SwiftXShadow reacted to Froody129 in Where do you discuss VR stuff?
I don't know if this has been a discussion in the past but I think that a dedicated VR subforum would be quite welcome.

There are quite a lot of threads asking about VR and the  various topics surrounding it and I think having a dedicated subforum with some pinned guides would make it easier to solve problems

Thats like saying video games games in 80s and 90s were a gimmick, and next to what we have today they were, but that didnt stop any of us playing them none stop.

I think it will still take a couple decades before VR will surpass PC gaming, since i dont see PC gaming evolution coming to a stop anytime soon.

why not, they just make more money that way.

Even if nvidia had nobody to compete with, gaming will still evolve and demand better cards. People will always want better fps for their games, if amd cant keep up that just means more money for nvidia, the further back amd gets the more money will nvidia make.

laptops are like 2x more expensive then normal computers.
Prebuilt computers are like 1,5x more expnsive then self built computers
A self built computer for 500-600$ could prolly run games on 1080p. Though not sure if on ultra, prolly not.

If you have no freinds then OC is pointless.

Also imo games are starting to get to the point where 8gb of ram kinda sucks but will run sucks 16gb of ram is great
