Just finished my gaming rig. I'm waiting for Pascal so I got a fairly capable but cheap temporary graphics card(got it on sale :D)

RBG was a huge influence for my build. I've seen everything has RGB now even mousepads and power supplies smh. I decided to do it old school and make it as clean and simple as possible. a few of my friends told me why I cheaped out on the case but I really like how minimalistic the s340 looked.

Wow Willy Dijo. I am most definitely impressed.. not only by the hardware, but the creative and time consuming amount of effort you have put into this case. This would be something I would proudly display for guests whom come into my home to see the elaborate care and character.
Take care, and please keep this topic up so we all can see what happens next!
    Cheers!

Hello all, This PC case is a personal project that's designed to be a replacement for my 900D, while being visually very different and designed for my components.

(The back of the motherboard is another front due to a rendering flaw)
The case was designed mostly around the materials I have left over from other projects, all being aluminium right angle lengths, 3mm and 5mm aluminium plate.

    Dimensions: 440mm x 440mm x 180mm (160mm excluding corner braces)
    Part List
    4690K MSI B85 G43 GTX 690 (not finalized) Hyper X Fury 16GB DDR3 Corsair H100i GTX ThermalTake Riing 140 RGB Fans (Modular ~750W PSU) Intel 535 120GB SSD WD 1Tb HDD
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    Lets start...

Drilling 4.2mm holes to tap M5 threads

Spare 5mm plate of aluminium before clean-up
Frame braces being filed to shape

    Measurements marked ready for drilling

    4.2mm Pilot hole

    6mm final hole size

Happy that my measurements aligned right

Orange is my favourite colour, and I got the same colour mixed up as my car.

    HDD Plate and frame support

Drixen got a reaction from Bigheart in corsair link wtf?
I can't tell you how many times I've had a "corrupt" install. In fact, in my event viewer I had hundreds of "critical" statuses detailing/outlining the program failed to start. It's something that I wish Corsair would spend more time on, rather than spending time making other things. It's unfortunate that Corsair has let their software dev team become so complacent, and leaving us the consumer in the dust.
It's also unfortunate that with their HUGE product sales spike, that they're not putting more money back into software development.

    Cheers!

the same can be said of the corsair utility engine, but for different reasons. the way they marketed it was that you would have complete control of your peripherals a with very intuitive software. but in reality, its very difficult to work with.

agreed. the green design just makes the build that much more complete without having to ghetto paint any hardware with risk of voiding warranties.

    Honestly, I play at 1080p 144hz... I sit @ 144hz or 120-130hz on a crazy game.... and I am running at 52*c GPU1 and 62*c GPU2.... rather than the 980 at 82*c..no kidding.

With the backplates for cooling efficiency and the 8pin PSU connector... the OC potential is AWESOME. People under estimate this configuration.. but at the end of the day it pleases me and the results speak for themselves. I love it.

    How when I made a $185 profit?

Drixen got a reaction from ThatOneRussian in How safe is it putting the pump into the mobo
It's not "unsafe" by any means AS LONG AS YOU USE THE 12v input on the mobo if you have one, also known as the PWRfan input.
If you have that, no problem. If you don't then once you get into this BIOS, setup whichever fan header with a MAX RPM setting so the pump gets continuous 100% power. It is essential you have an efficient pump.. that or you can use a molex to a 4 pin and go direct from the power supply.

    Hardware list:
    X99 - Intel i7 5820K | 16GB DDR4 HyperX | EVGA X99 Micro Mobo | EVGA GTX 980 | SeaSonic Platinum 760W PSU | Cooler Master GeminII S524 Ver.2 CPU cooler | Corsair 240GB Force GS SSD | 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM HDD | Cooler Master Silencio 352 mATX | x3 Noctua NFP12 | x1 Noctua NFA14 CPU cooler fan |

With LiquiSTORM tore down, I already had my components from that build and put into a more professional workstation-like case. I wanted to put my water cooling configuration into my server, and make it benefit something beefier and more power hungry.
So with that said, I reached out and got my hands on a Cooler Master Silencio 352 mATX case.
With everything ready to rock, I began to implement my components I already owned into the CM Silencio 352.

Taredown LiquiSTORM aftermath, minus the GTX 980 since I had to send it back for warranty claim

First, we got the case... awesome!

Opened up and got some shots, nice looking!

Put the magnet plate on to block off the top 120mm fan spot, won't be needing it. CPU cooler barely clears the top.

Inside of the case, OEM spec.

The fans that we will be using today! 3x NFP12 for case cooling (intake/exhaust) and 1x NFA14 for CPU cooling. Not too shabby! I love these fans so much.

Since I went with Noctua NFP12's for case cooling, I took out the stock fans, and got it ready for Noctua Paradise! sweeeeet.

Front NFP12's installed, looks nice! Wow...

Rear NFP12 exhaust installed. Man, these are awesome fans! Look so good.

Then I installed the PSU, which just looks simply awesome. I love this SeaSonic 760w Platinum! Sooooo nice. *I later change the orientation of the PSU for better cable management and airflow management*

Prepping the motherboard! Backplate, RAM installed- let's get 'er in there!

Got the backplate installed, nice! That NFP12 looks sexy

The case comes with two types of screws that look IDENTICAL, but have different uses. The screw with the rough finish is for the motherboard and smooth finish is PSU, misc. Be careful which one you use!

Motherboard drops in very nicely, perfect fitment. Let's bolt up! I also install the i7-5820k CPU! Not bad at all

Looks nice! I removed the IO shield plate since it does zero benefits, other than if you have a windowed case it looks "cleaner". With no benefit other than looks... why use it in my application? I begin to wire everything up, getting ready for SSD, HDD and hook misc. things up.

You really got to know how to cable manage with this case, expert level definitely! Make sure to have a modular PSU and plenty of zip ties! We're getting there...

SSD and HDD installed! So close to being done...

Now being to install the CPU cooler, we must remove the OEM fan, and install the Noctua NFA14. This is the Cooler Master Gemini S524 Ver. 2..VERY well made. In fact, the performance is the same as the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo just low profile for mATX solutions.

Noctua NFA14 installed! 140mm of cooling efficiency sweeet!

2nd viewing angle... this looks so good. My performance is NICE. Flush, clean...powerful.

Thermal paste applied (used Cooler Master's thermal paste so my warranty was 100% in case of any dangers. I know I don't have to, but at least if there is an RMA needed I used everything CM wants you to use. No hassles). Bolted right up! Man this is a BEAST! Hardly any clearance up top... love it! I installed my AMD Radeon 7450 for testing purposes when I do first boot to make sure it is 100%! Also, I didn't have my GTX 980 back from EVGA yet due to warranty claim. So I temporarily had my 2 PCI-e power cables stashed under the HDD for plug-and-play when receiving my graphics card.

Finished doing my cable management, and installed Noctua power regulators to the case fans, using the black adapter which limits the RPM's to 1100rpm (silent but efficient!)

Once I got the EVGA GTX 980 back, I installed it and I also flipped the PSU so that way the PSU is working as an intake, which helps with air flow management. My efficiency INCREASED by a lot. This is a perfect install- love it. Here it is FINISHED!
