Generally the 7970 but Gigabyte 7970 is a hit or miss. Test it cooling, stability and overclockability first.

Based on my post ^ go with GTX 770.

Your post is comparing paper specs and with the wrong card. That's a GTX 970, not a GTX 770.

Comparing 770 VS 7970 is SUPER easy, and NEVER EVER EVER EVER stick to ONE source of info.

Reviews have this info.. as do comparison sites, CPU/GPU boss sites are a joke with LITTLE to NO details/specifics (in comparison to real reviewers)

Anantech/Bench is the one of a few to go to first.

Next page, next page, next page..... and so on..

PCPER - http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-770-Review-GK104-Speed-Bump/Battlefield-3
GTX770 Review, compared to 7970GE and others...

Should be easy to make your mind up now...

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

770 will give you a 13% performance improvement for texel rate and pixel rate.

7970 will have 9% more TDP (power hungry) and 19% more memory bandwidth.

In short, 7970 can possibly give you better results when OCing, where 770 will beat it "out of the box" solution without much tweaking....

You choose.

The 7970 is faster now... But that 770 is a lightning... Ah what a shitty situation to be in. That 770 will definitely sell for more though.

i5 2400 | ASUS RTX 4090 TUF OC | Seasonic 1200W Prime Gold | WD Green 120gb | WD Blue 1tb | some ram | a random case

TDP =/= Power draw...

Is the 7970 the GHZ edition? Depending on how they overclock, they are pretty much on the same level.
