    Fractal Design Meshify C
But the cable management is better on the s340 elite still Meshify C looks more premium and has open panel for better airflow and the cable management is not that bad either.
Its based on the Original Define C frame which is a great frame.

I would buy new one and clean your PC once in a while please.

If you don't know much, why are you saying what's good?

80+ ratings are just efficiency ratings, they indicate nothing about quality. You can have a good 80+ Bronze PSU with good over current protection and fail safes and you can have an 80+ Gold PSU with no protection or fail safes.

There are many, many bad 80+ Gold units and many, many good 80+ Bronze units and everything in between

Read reviews if you want the very basic "is it good enough." If you want to learn about what makes a PSU good then you'll probably turn PSUs into some sort of hobby.

artificialRAGE reacted to iRileyx in How do I know if a PSU is good?
Even the cheap-ass Chinese units that cost as little as $20 can have bronze ratings.

An efficiency rating is by no means an indication of whether a PSU is good or not.

The VS Series, the old CX/M, the B1, B3, BV, BT are all crap. They are also all bronze rated

artificialRAGE reacted to seon123 in How do I know if a PSU is good?
That's so wrong.... EVGA "makes" a whole lot of crappy units. The non-80-plus 400W, the N1, W1, B3, BV, BT etc. They don't even really make them. Most of them are Super Flower.
Corsair also "makes" a few pretty bad units. Most units are made by CWT.

Every brand is equally capable of selling crap

The cost gives it away. Plus AFAIK, EVGA hasn't given out review samples, which means they don't want it reviewed.

EVGA is digging themself a huge hole. 400W, followed by the non certified Line, followed by the B3, BV and BT. They really need to step their game up, they have hit rock bottom. They were at Corsair level (even though they were given more praise than corsair, 'because EVGA'), however, now they are Thermaltake (prior to recently) level. They sell everything from below integrator grade, to high end.

So you have your computer facing down towards carpet, then you also cover the fan with something that blocks most of the airflow to the PSU?

Maybe really don't do that, as the PSU needs air, and will die if it is suffocated.

That is 3 high end super flower units you have killed, that points to you, or something in your system that has killed those units.

artificialRAGE reacted to STRMfrmXMN in My new PSU Seasonic is loud when gaming
A Ryzen 1600 and 580 even with watercooling OC wouldn't demand more than 350W.

Yes. The M12 isn't known for it's quietness. The fan will run to keep the unit cool.

If you want a newer, better, and quieter PSU, then an EVGA G2 or Corsair RMx/RMi would be a good choice for you.

artificialRAGE reacted to STRMfrmXMN in Done with EVGA power supplies
EVGA does not have a factory where they do the soldering and component selection. That's done by their OEMs.

If multiple high-end PSUs are dying then chances are you need a surge protector or you need to source the root of the problem. Those PSUs are built like trucks by Super Flower.
  17. Agree
artificialRAGE reacted to WereCat in Done with EVGA power supplies
You know that EVGA does not make PSUs?
And having multiple high quality PSU fails is either the dumbest luck it the world or your problem lies somewhere entirely else.

artificialRAGE reacted to 191x7 in Thoughts on the Fractal Define R5
I have a Define R5 Blackout. It's a great case to build systems inside (layout, cable management options, spacing, overall design) and it's great for silence.
But it also has some issues, more like nuisances than real issues, they are worth mentioning.
    - The bottom fan filter (under the case, keeps the PSU and bottom fan clean from dust) can experience vibrations that make a strange rattling noise (almost like a dying fan). It took me months to diagnose what's causing it and some googling showed that I'm not the only one with the issue - it's fairly common - and it's easy to fix once you know what it is.
    - The 5.25" bay isn't needed and it can be removed (like I did) but the space can't be populated with fans or similar.
    - The drive cages are great, but you can't mount the smaller one (for 3 drives) on top of the case where the 5.25" bay was like you can with the one for 5 drives.
    - The spacing of the SSD (2.5") holders on the motherboard tray is wide enough to prevent the drives from using two SATA power connectors that are next to each other on the SATA power cable - means you either have to use a cable with 3 SATA power connectors (without using the middle one) or SATA power extensions.
    - The fan places on the top (with ModuVent covers) aren't really useful unless populating them with 140mm fans and dust filters. Limited space for a wide water cooling rad.
    - Overall build less stable than on the Define R4.

The Define S might be a better option. Or the Define C.

    No, just no.

S12II is an old, group regulated unit without working protection on the secondary side wich makes it a bad unit. Even if voltage regulation might seem OK in tests, it is not.
You can force the voltages to go outside the spec, if you load the PSU inside the spec.

Also you can kill it potentially with load due to lack of protection. And in worst case scenarios more than the PSU.
And also the unit tends to get really realy loud quite early...

But that's not the worst part. That's the price!
Because for the same amount of money you can get better protected units that are independently regulated and thus not dependently like the S12II is. And also less noisy under load conditions.

    In short:
There is just no reason to buy it anymore in this day and age!
There are either better options available from the Competition or similar things that are cheaper (and better protected)...

Why bother with an ~8 Year old unit?!

Lol what? You got any evidence to back that up? The S12 is a very old group-regulated unit. It literally cannot be anywhere near as good as a G3 by design.

Seasonic hasn't made Corsair PSUs for several years while Seasonic only makes the "S" series of EVGA PSUs. The Seasonic S12 is not rebranded on any of the other two companies' platforms.
