  9. My friend said he had a really epic gaming setup, and then showed me these pics:

    That friend no longer exists.

Yes, that is a  ~2010 MacBook Pro with a monitor and keyboard.

  10. When your boss asks you why are you not imaging any laptops and you tell him that you can't image anymore laptops because the imaging server doesn't have the correct configuration setup for the laptops. And there are 25 laptops... all different models.. :|

  11. I've backed 3 Kickstarters this week. What is wrong with me?

  12. Anybody else have a problem with their cat playing with powered HDD's? Mine think it's a toy or something, luckily hard drives don't have moving parts!

  13. my 8700k finally arrived! :D

  14. Something I notice a whole lot here is an unhealthy dose of pseudointellectualism and people pretending to know everything.

I'll make it clear right here: I don't know a whole lot, but that doesn't mean I'll act the part of knowing everything.

  15. A little irritated about the delay in my new workstation

Nvidia severely underestimated the worldwide demand for their new P series graphics cards and as a result most of the P series graphics card are constrained.  The P1000 card is expected to recover on 10/27

These cards have been in production for a year and a half though?????? Volta has been out for like a month????

It's not even like I'm requesting a P5000, just a teeny little P1000. I'm not mad the OEM cant build it yet, just the reasoning.

  16. I got In School Suspension for being late 3 minutes in 3 days throughout half a year, like wth. Theyre supposed to be training us for real life, allot of jobs dont give a fuck about 3 minutes is basically, thats 3 minutes less pay.

  18. What you can do now to stop GPU mining prices:

    Easy:

    1. Mine with your own hardware. By doing so you will increase the network difficulty and reduce the profitability in mining.

    2. Talk to your local senator about banning cryptocurrency. If crypto is banned in the US, eth will crash.

    3. Make up some horror story about cryptocurrency that causes people to be scared of using it and tell that to every mainstream media outlet. This will do the same as point one.

    Trickier stuff to do:

    3. Write a software program that spreads a virus that deletes peoples ethereum, bitcoin or whatever wallet. There's no crypto to go around if it's been lost.

    4. Blow up every large ethereum crypto mining facility on earth.

    5. Alternatively you could just blow up every power plant if you wanted to be really through.

    Really hard stuff to do:

    6. Summon a solar flare from the sun upon the earth. You will destroy every single electronic device that has existed ever included those cards you wanted to buy. But hey, mining is over now.

How I think AMD should solve this:

The next launch for GPUs, there is a limit of a maximum of two cards per social security number. In europe you use the national ID number so that would be the substitute for the SSN.

Everywhere else on the world, well fuck you guys.

  19. I'm sorry but you have to look at my reply to this post. I'm still crying from my own joke xDxD

  20. Ok, this is something I really did not want to be hearing :/:$ Just figured I might post this here for others.

    Ughhhh... that sounds more dangerous.

Part of it doesn't quite make sense to me personally, but then again I don't understand Networking that much, so... yeah, lol.

  21. So, today MageTank learned that just because you buy two powerful fans to run them in push/pull on a 120mm GPU AIO rad, does not mean you NEED two power fans in push/pull on a 120mm GPU AIO rad. A single Noctua industrial fan at 1600 RPM's was exactly the same as two, lol.

Still, dropped 10C from the stock EVGA fan (from 55C down to 45C) so that's pretty impressive. Next on the to-do list: liquid metal. My goal of sub-40C GPU is going to happen eventually.

  22. For modeling the shroud for this hypothetical NVIDIA TITAN Z (Pascal), I'm thinking about just starting over and using a plane primitive and just edge extruding so I can simplify the mesh (as in reducing the number of edges), and actual do a proper one that's close to the one on the Founders Edition.

I don't have a Founders Edition card in hand, and I wish because that would make it a lot easier as I can just touch and get a feel for how the geometry and the tessellation works. To make do, I can only go off of images and videos :(
