I think this is one of those situations where it’s quicker to live with the extra transfer times than spend time “fixing” it.

MayorPotatoSalad got a reaction from Melvinvm in Haunted Hardware? Dead pixel disappeared after restart.
My girlfriend noticed a dead/stuck pixel on her monitor this afternoon, photo attached.
It was super blatant on any light content, and even had a shadow around it. It persisted all afternoon but after we got back from dinner and she woke her system back up and reached the Windows lock screen there was no sign of it. We were both very relieved until we noticed that the second she had logged back in it had returned?! Understanding it must not be the monitor we did a full restart of the computer (the pixel came back to life again on the shutting down screen) and since then it has been completely fine.

I was hoping someone would be able to explain to me how this could have occurred? The fact that it appeared and disappeared depending on what Windows was doing indicates to me it is a Windows issue, but I don't understand how it could have such a strange influence on the display pipeline.

Apologies for my lack of response to this thread, just finished exam period at uni. Thanks heaps for all your thoughts and ideas.

To everyone recommending that I clean my loop out I completely agree that some maintenance is well overdue. As soon as I have some down time on needing my system I will pull it apart and clean out everything.

I ran some tests, with and without various panels on the case, and saw that my temps dropped ludicrous amounts, don't have any exact numbers or graphs right now sorry, but will try update the original post with a bit of a PSA with a bunch of indepth information for other potential buyers of the Evolv line.
After watching JayzTwoCents' latest video 'Why don't I use my Ryzen 1800X Anymore?', he talks a lot about the very poor airflow in the Evolv ATX solidifying mine and a few other peoples views in the thread about the cases very poor airflow.

Do you know who did these mods or have an original forum thread? I have certainly considered in the past to cut some ventilation, just worried that maintaining a decent look cutting into the black finish on my case would be difficult. Would love some tips if you have any to share.

Personally, from my understanding of overclocking Ryzen, at least at this early stage, the chips are more limited by themselves and cooling than the power delivery that the motherboard is capable of. So depending on what sort of a budget you are on, I personally would not bother spending the extra money simply for the additional power phases.

    Edit: Disregard this...

I hate to be 'that guy', but even with all the overclocking prowess in the world, getting a 6300 to match a 1600X in performance is a pretty impossible challenge.

I'm not sure what the pricing is like in your part of the world, but I just checked here in Australia, and the 1600X is not priced much higher at all over the 1600. For me, I would save on the motherboard and go for the better chip itself.

Depending on how much you have to spend, I would say it may well be the smarter option, provided there are no other features that the X370 boards offer that intice you.

As for SLI, I have 2 x 980's in my rig right now, and I would not recommend it haha

Why do you have your voltage maxed if you aren't OCing? That IS the reason why temps are so bad.

That's not how boost works and voltage is different then power limit.

980ti and 1080 performance are about equal (EDIT: 1080 is more powerful).
I think you've got a good deal there tbh.
Your 980ti is no longer worth $700 so why should they replace it with something that is worth $700?
I'm not sure you're 980ti would shit all over that 1080 either.
