Thanks, I got the timezones all mixed up
9am PST is 5pm over here (I'm in the UK right now). Why can't we just all use UTC?

    Hmm... Still no M.2 Support?
Why is AsRock the only one to support M.2 on AMD chipsets and ITX boards? I recently build a very small and dense packed mITX box and had to resolve to an AsRock X97 mITX/AC, because there was no space for an SSD. It's not like I don't like AsRock, but I would like to have some choices.

What we think is the proper way:
    - Get Money
    - Get some volunteers
    - Put them in a closed system for at least two years (on Earth)
    Then:
    - Get Money
    - Build a station on the moon
-- If station has already been build, skip to:
    - Get some new volunteers to the Station
    - Exchange the guys regularly to not kill them, but don't bring new equipment.
    Then:
    - Get Money
    - Get Know-How
    - Get multiple Countries involved
    - Build equipment
    - Get Top people of those countries (AFTER the equipment is ready, not before. Otherwise they might die because of age in the meantime.)
    - Go to Mars
What Mars One thinks is the way:
    - Get Volunteers (from somewhere)
    - Get Money (from somewhere)
    - Build equipment (nobody has build before, with Know-How from somewhere)
    - Put cameras (everywhere)
    - Go to Mars (somehow)
    In other words:
I like the idea of getting Humanity to other planets as much as (mostly) everyone else does. The planet we are on right now has finite resources and another step into the unknown will inspire generations after it. BUT: Mars Ones approach is nowhere near the way things like that should be handled (as we did for centuries),
leaves everybody with more questions then answers
and looks like "unfoughtfully rushed" at best and "like a scam" at worst. See if it's working and where it's going, before you jump the hypetrain.

    1) Windows XP X64.
    2) My first "OC-Build" was a P4 2.4GHz with stock cooler. Yeah, I learned about OC the "hard way"...
    3) Put a GTX660ti OC into a Shuttle XPC (had to Mod the case, due to heat-issues).
    4) My first PC had a Noname PSU - fried and lost a Harddrive AND the MB with it.
    5) Didn't monitor my first Watercooled system: Leaked slowly onto the GPU and fried it.
5.1) That GPU was also running sickingly hot, because I didn't bother to cool the ram & vrms.
    6) Bought a big, full metal Thermaltake Armor (v1) Case when I was 16. Had to carry it home (1-Hour walk + a crammed busride). And I'm not really "athletic".

Did some tests with two 290Xs on an 4670K and it didn't, so I guess you'll be fine.
You need a good PSU and Casefans tho. That, and a closed design headset/headphones.

Birdhunter got a reaction from TheMightyGranny in Huge permorfance issues with my schools laptops
The Hardware is fast enough for fluent officework and build for Windows 7, so that's not the problem.
    Source (German):
    http://www.notebookcheck./Review-Lenovo-ThinkPad-X121e-NWS5QGE-Subnotebook.61149.0.html
It's possible that the school got them cheap by buying used or refurbished units, so wear and tear could be the Problem.
I personally think it's more likely caused by the school having some restrictive software (you know, parent-control and haevy anti-virus that run in the background) . They may also lack some maintenance, that's causes PCs to loose performance over time.
    I would suggest:
    - Inform the person responsible for that.
    - Check the load in idle and while working in the Taskmanager (if accessable).
    - Defrag the disk (if possible).
    - See if another Software uses up cpu/ram (in tskmgr, if possible).
If they restricted access to Taskmanager, Defrag, etc, then you can't do it yourself.

Birdhunter got a reaction from brownninja97 in Zalman unsheaths the R1 white: The best case you have never heard of
I think you are "misreading" this picture:
The picture indicates, that the main intake of this case in under the front door and that it sucks the air in through the gaps between the door and the rest of the case.

This is actually really good, since some cases have the front completely closed and mostly suck air in from the side, which can cause some problems if you, for example, put the case next to your desk or in a shelf (which covers the sides, therefore not allow for a good airflow).

I also think, that those side-intakes are there because the mentioned space around the door is not big enough for when you have two high-powered fans running on full speed - because the additional production-costs wouldn't really be justifiable with "design" only otherwise (as far as I know Zalman).
