Likwid reacted to rippy4500 in Is virtual surround worth it on stereo headphones?
I believe you need a true 5.1 or 7.1 speaker system for good surround, not just headphones. I always thought it sounded worse than just a standard unprocessed stereo signal regardless of the headphones used.

    Based on reviews from https://www.youtube.com/@monitorsunboxed

Most 240+ Hz monitors fail to hit response times necessary to be real 240Hz monitors so actually most chep ones could be running 160-180Hz and thats not a big gain compared to good 144hz

Ok in this case its just the game needing more graphics perf. Second life does not need a powerful GPU at all. To not overspend on something that is overkill, I suggest a GTX 1660 Super/Ti. You might have to look for one on the used market as Nvidia has stopped producing these.

A GTX 1070 has comparable performance but I would be wary as the 10X0 series is significantly older and higher risk of getting a very worn or damaged unit on the used market.

They will safely run on your 500W PSU. Reason for not recommending an AMD GPU is because Blender gets a better boost out of Nvidia CUDA

That issue is an inherent property of DisplayPort connections, it doesn't have anything to do with FreeSync/G-Sync or HDR. Use HDMI instead if you don't want this behavior.

After checking some 4090 rendering posts it mentions that when rendering it uses about 300-320w for GPU.
I would think if you would get boot error that would be pcie problem.

Maybe it is some signal integrity problem, when rises goes too close to PSU or when they are near MB PCI-e slots and rises are really close to each other.

Clarifying my previous post, main task now is to rule out PSU, by checking if PSU A can run two GPUs and motherboard, cpu.

Quick search showed that a lot of posts with people hacing PCI-e problems with this motherboard, here's one.

I would start with disconnection one GPU and test again. that would check if powersupplies are enough or pcie lanes are enough.

EDIT: Did you remove GPU that is connected to PSU which also runs CPU and MB?

Your RAM might potentially be defective. I'd recommend to run some memory checks, e.g. the Microsoft Memory Diagnostics tool, as recommended here:

Ditch the AMD card, there's a reason Nvidia is taking the whole AI market...

More seriously, get yourself a $20 256GB SATA SSD to install linux on. Usually on mobos you can choose separately for NVMe and SATA drives whether they should go through the RAID controller or not, so you could keep the NVMes there but disable it for SATA drives.

Check if it's the case on your board, it is on Intel but I don't know how it is with the AMD version.

If not then ditch the RAID altogether, RAID's not beneficial performance-wise on NVMe anyway, usually the opposite. If you want to group drives to avoid separate volumes take the middle option, keep the boot drive alone (can have both Windows and Linux on it), then group the other 2 in storage spaces.

So far it does. I've tuned the fans with G-helper to about 50% max, it's fairly quiet and runs the GPU easily at 90W steady and 50W on the CPU, the 7845HX stays around 4.0 to 4.4 GHz while gaming as well. To be honest, it's quite close in performance to the 7800 XT it's replacing.

    Not related to wifi problems!

Do two types of training -> pump or endurance.

pump: high weights low reps 4 sets for 6-7 reps.
endurance: usually 60-70% of max weight 10-15 or to 20 reps for same 4 sets.
In both ways to 30 sec rests.

With this you won't have time to play games 😄

You can also do pyramid, slowly go to max weight and than based on type of training go to working weight.
for me started going to gym after 1 year break, could do 90kg in bench, after 3 months did 120kg, dumbells from 30kg to 40kg (each hand), triceps excersis all got 2x working weight.

P.S: Only taking BCAA 30min before workout.
