  3. Thank you for your kind help! I've decided the msi b450m mortar with 32Gb (2x16) G.skill 3200Mhz rams Does the factorial CPU cooler good enough for the Ryzen 7 2700X, or change it to the 250W+ heatsinking Cryorig R1 universal? Thank you once again!

  5. Yes, assuming you set up in BIOS that the port can be hotswapped. Usually it's not enabled.

  7. should work fine, just enable hotswap in the bios.
  8. Sadly, I'm inclined to believe you, even though I know you're only joking.

    XLR cabel?

Most XLR Cables I've used had all 3 pins flush with one another... You can see it in this picture I just pulled from Google:

    9900k vs TR2990WX

Somewhat if ECC is a must and you don't want to pay the overprice for a XEON, but then you should be aiming at the TR 2950X instead of the TR 2990WX as it has much superior single thread performance and can run even ECC memory on a higher frequency to reduce latency.

on single... no but with 50 users i can't imagine it being single threaded

    Deciding between headphones

the headphones have arrived! It even comes with a pouch which people said it stopped shipping with so this must have been older stock of it neat. Oh my imedietly the audio quality is so much better! I can *feel* subtle drum beats the beyerdynamics didn't even PROCESS where there. Voices are clear and bass is boomy, way boomier than the 770's which i believe were even focused more on bass. Everything is clearer, probably not as clear as the MSR7's which apparently detail like everything but it's clear enough that it blends together and does a really nice job of it. There's something about them that does make the music pop more, the vibrations the bass, etc that really do make them more fun to listen too than the 770's. The 770's blends it together but it falls flat there's no oomph to it, no subtle vibrations in there, weak bass, while clear other instruments blend too much. The cups are smaller than i thought but they fit perfectly around my ears even with my glasses on and feel very comfortable so far. The stock cable is garbage small so it's a bit of an awkward angle to have it connected to my computer. All in all I've only used them a bit but I am IMMEDIATELY impressed by them, I aint no headphone nerd or super knowledgeable about all the terms but I can say it's a good significant step up from the 770's which i already thought were amazing.
  16. If you can, wait until Puget tests the Ryzen 3000 chips, but with what we have today for Adobe Photoshop/Premier Pro I would go with an Intel/Nvidia build for Intel Quick Sync, Cuda acceleration, and greater Adobe compatibility. Although the Ryzen 2700X is a little superior in Premier Pro, the Intel chip is better in Phtoshop. You can look up the Lightroom tests at Puget if you use that too. It seems like most people are going to Intel now for the Quick Sync. (I only saw 3 builds on your link, not four) This would be a nice build. If it's over budget, I can make changes. The i7-8600 is loud and throttles at turbo, so it needs an aftermarket cooler. I would also go with the Crucial over the PNY. Meilleure qualité a mon avis. Si t'es capable d'en avoir de recommendrais le MX500 de Crucial, car il y a 5 ans de garantie et encore une meilleure qualité par rapport au BX500 You linked Amazon France, so I assume you speak french...

Right? But is it supposed to be pushed so far in tho? Like compared to the two other pins?

    9900k vs TR2990WX

As stated above, the Zombieland issues are more for Kaby Lake and previous generations, so a Coffee Lake processor is more on the secure side, also on the regards of Intel only their XEON line up has ECC Memory support. From what I understand you have great use for single thread performance and low per core latency, so the TR 2990WX is not what you're looking for. If an i7 8700K is sufficient to make the workload feel snappy and all the i9 9900K will be better at it in every way but considering we're SO close to Zen 2 release and that might actually bring an even better CPU solution to the table for your need I really believe that waiting a month is worth it.

    Newegg return policy experience?

I'm returning the ASRock X470 master SLI/AC to Newegg after having possibly the worst experience ever with a motherboard. They've already stated they'd charge me a $17 restocking fee (amazon didn't charge me anything whatsover) are there any other costs? I'm worried because I've heard horror stories of them not giving a refund due to the game code that came with a GPU not being sent back. My mobo came with a $60 code for some food service (something akin to Blue Apron) , should I absolutely return that too?
  21. If you kept your motherboard spare screws or the spare screws that came with your desktop case you should have some compatible screws. Or if you kept the boxes your hard drives came in you may have scews in the box still. Too bad you don't live further south, I have a handful I could give you. Also grats on the M4, very nice - of those on my rack my M2 has been the most stable.

Latest Puget Premiere Pro cpu benchmarks, https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Premiere-Pro-CC-2019-CPU-Roundup-Intel-vs-AMD-vs-Mac-1320/. It rates the 2700X and i7-9700K roughly equivalent. This build is $100 over budget, (1200 + 200), and is a bit light on storage. But it does squeeze in an i9-9900K, RTX 2070, and 32GB of memory. Latest laptops

Those are some nice suggestions, thank you I think I'm starting to lean towards a dedicated GPU, those laptops look like they line up better with what I want. The Zephyrus actually looks really nice It'll just take some time for me to get over my AMD prejudice xp Had some bad experiences in the past with them. Aaand thank you for the reviews! I'll keep what you said in mind while I'm looking! I was liking the MSI laptops but yeah, flimsy or poor build quality isn't nice, especially when the thing isn't particularly cheap. Looking forward to hearing from you :3

Huawei gets struck by the ban hammer again, now from ARM!

If a foreign company is the target of US action, it's normally because they've pissed off American-based companies in the same field and they've been able to lobby to get things done. (The US State Department acts as something of a protection racket too much of the time.) But it's never this loud and big companies don't normally go along smoothly with what the US Government wants them to do. Huawei doesn't have much of any Consumer-facing market in the USA right now, yet it's making big headlines. It's one thing to make powerful enemies, it's another to convince all of the opposed factions of a major power to hate you. Something, in general, like this happening isn't uncommon, but the amount of PR about it being put out really is.
  26. it's just the little things that blow my mind every day that many people don't even acknowledge the presence of.

Today I went to Wendy's and bought their 4 for $4 deal which get's you a burger, 4pc chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink, all for a meal that costs under $5 (Michigan just had to steal it's 24 cents from me). Many other fast food places have even better deals than that. You can go to Taco bell and get a shredded chicken quesadilla for only $1, or Arby's and get two sliders for $3. Mcdonalds often runs coupons on their mobile app for BOGO deals on their sausage and egg meals for around $3.

Now is the food healthy? Of course not. But you don't go to a fast food restaurant to eat healthy. You go to to grab something fast to cover up the pain from hunger.

Now let's go back about 100 years to when my grandpa was born. Did any form of not only fast but cheap food exist back then? Hell no! Many of these folks were still farming, and good, fast, and cheap food wasn't even on peoples minds then. Back then people were concerned Mostly with just having food at all (especially during the great depression).. But these days in 2019 on the other hand, I can walk into a restaurant and order an entire meal that multiple humans have to prepare, have the food ready for me within minutes. and get something filling for less time and money than it takes me to write this post. Yes nobody seems to think that is just incredible?

Same with grocery stores. I can walk into Walmart or a whole foods and have a dazzling selection of cuisine from all over the world for prices in the single digits, when just 200 years ago trading for spices with India was all the rage and only reserved for the upper middle class and very rich. Meanwhile today not only do I have access to the same spices they do, but also all sorts of fruits and vegetables i've never even heard of. Did anyone know that dragonfruit is actually a thing? Oh, and I can buy it on sale from kroger for $6.

If we compare out lives to people from 200 years ago, we are all living like kings. Even the very poorest among us in the US have access to almost unlimited food of every kind, free education (in the form of grade school) and in many cases subsidized housing and childcare. Many lower income families also are eligible for health care under the ACA. If we go back 100 years, some of these entitlement programs would appear to be straight out of a Utopian fiction novel in comparison to where they came from.

In the past 30 years, we have lifted over a billion people across the world out of extreme poverty. Yet everyone seems to think this is the work of governments rather than markets finding more efficient ways to organize resources:

sometimes it's nice to be thankful for what we have, and look back on where we came from instead of being jealous of those who have more. Because even compared to 200 years ago, everyone on this forum is a king. You have more access to wealth creating tools than anyone in the history of mankind in the form of the internet. Use it well.
