it's not your graphics card, or even your rig. It's the game itself, and i read somewhere that it's so badly optimized that EA is getting sued LOL

Well I can tell you this I have no problems with BF4 on Windows 8.1 when I had Win 7 it was horrid. Switching from 7 to 8.1 was like night and day the game just plays better on Windows 8/8.1

NO need to get windows 8, download the Microsoft Bulldozer patches.

#1 Extract patch #1 and install it.

Reboot.

#2 Extract patch #2 and install it.

Reboot.

Type "Windows Update" in the start menu, press enter.

On the left side select "view update history"

Make sure that KB2646060 & KB2645594 have "Successful" under status if either one has "Failed" under status make sure to install the failed update again.

Now you will get Win8 performance with AMD Bulldozer/Piledriver CPUs.

After you're done make sure to overclock your CPU, the Hyper 212 EVO will easily take your FX 8320 to 4.3Ghz+

Overclocking your CPU makes a very noticeable difference in BF4, going from 3.5Ghz to 4.3Ghz will net you 12 FPS improvement.

http://gamegpu.ru/action-/-fps-/-tps/battlefield-4-test-gpu.html

If you're having problems overclocking on your motherboard update the BIOS.

Go to the Gigabyte Website

Select the revision of your motherboard, you'll find all revisions listed next to the name of the motherboard in blue in the top of the page.

Scroll down, select support and downloads, select BIOS & select your operating system then download the latest non-beta BIOS.

If you are having trouble with Win 7 on an 8 thread chip (8350/I7). Unpark your cores. Win 8.1 does this which is why people think it is "so much faster". It is also why people with laptops and tablets are complaining about 8,1 battery life (MS is sneaky).

You can do this on Windows 7 with a click and a reboot.

http://www.coderbag.com/Programming-C/Disable-CPU-Core-Parking-Utility

Enjoy win 8 performance without a horrible operating system. Direct X on Win 8 is slightly better. Win 7 tweaks and less memory usage = slightly faster so it doesn't matter. Add to that low level API's will make Direct X useless anywyas.

Network lag and some other tweaks? See here.

http://forum.symthic.com/battlefield-3/battlefield-3-general-discussion/2219-battlefield-3-tweak-guide/?s=eccf49d1145315cf44533e267736f47f79b15cba

Enjoy a non broken game (except for their crappy servers).

P.S. Don't let the Microsoft shareholders and fake internet personalities fool you, there is no downside to unparking cores on a desktop. I measured voltage, temps and wattage before and after unparking cores. I saw zero difference and if there was, it was so small I could not see it. All it did was make my computer run faster in everything. Desktop's don't have batteries. If there is a voltage difference it is pennies a month if that.

With Windows 7 tweaked if anything it was slightly faster them my trial Win 8. Oh and I can actually multitask and do things I want to do in an operating system, and no, a dumb fake start bar does not help that, so don't waste your time mentioning it.

I overclocked my 8320 to 4.8Ghz for the fun of it, it's not Prime95 stable because of the inadequate cooling, but I managed to do a Cinebench benchmark and I have it stored.

I just tested my game after Unparking and Installing the hotfixes and it has improved in FPS but i still get *VERY RARE* lag spikes all the way down to 30 40 and it likes to stay around EDIT*PRETTY RARE ASWELL* 58 when i'm looking out of windows of buildings at sceneryI I am mostly staying at the 70-80 FPS mark and quite alot of the time 100. I had a look in my BIOS again and i'm stumped why it wont let me change the setting along the lines of 'Manual frequency control' or something like that.

I tried to overclock to 4.3 GHz but in CPU-z it is always staying at 3.7GHz but i just brought it up and for a second it was at 4.3GHz any ideas?

In Computer>Properties it says 4.32GHz

I would say it's still very optimized and buggy. I have 2 7950s in crossfire which are faster than a 780Ti, so really I should never be below 60FPS, but like you, on some maps it does go down to 40FPS or so at times. (Ultra, 1440p)

Ok so for Christmas i  got a 780 Ti, 8320 and a 990FXA UD3

I am getting pretty low FPS in BF4 Originally i was getting 40, 50 FPS Overclocked and a used Driver sweeper to wipe all of my Drivers and i have went up to 60 70 FPS but on Siege of Shanghai specifically as it is the onl no Chine rising map i have played so far i am getting 40 50 again!? I have wiped and installed my drivers 3/4 times and i have tried different drivers and it is still laggy can someone halp me?!

GPU-Z : http://gyazo.com/b4c4f2179f9919264f555cad82a950a1

CPU-Z/CPUID : http://gyazo.com/77d1d953166dcbad0c743869d5217722

I've got a GPU offset of +200MHz

and Mem clock of +450MHz

I am also having trouble with my Motherboard not allowing me to overclock my CPU

Are you sure that it´s the GPU that´s deciding the performance and not the CPU? This can be changed in the Nvidia controll panel, but I just hope that it´s BF4 and not you that missed this...

Dude, it doesn't matter what fps you get as long as its above 30, we see at 24 fps so you really wont notice it.
