4590 enough for 290x?

Hi there

 

As the title says I was wondering if a 4590 would be enough to power a 290x Vapor-x 8gb card. 

Also I may want to go crossfire in the future so would the CPU be enough to power it then?

Definitely fine for the single 290X

Mostly fine for two. But that has more to do with PCIe lanes, which are a non-issue.

That's a great card - you chose well. The 290X is a beast and the Vapor-X 8GB is the best of the best, along with the MSI Lightning.

The CPU will be more than enough, even for a 980Ti.

Yes you will be fine. Just make sure you have a big psu, especially for cfx.

If you're aiming for 60 fps then yeah, that's a great cpu. If you're aiming for 120 fps or more once you get the second 290x, you'd be better off with an i7-4790k and a hefty overclock.
