theoretically its enough, but the power supply could also just turn into your profile picture.

...so many Dumb ways to die.

Plug your 950 into a bomb, and turn the PC on.

Say good bye to your house, and never use that PSU again

well, one of my servers is currently running off of a similar power supply.

its not that all of them are bad, its just that theres no way to tell between a good and a bad one.

How old is that, and where did it come from?

Its 4 years old and its a generic power supply.

If you've to ask about a local brand and nobody in the world knows about it stay away from it

This is a signature.

I do have good generic PSUs too.

as you said, you cannot tell.

(There is a generic PSU at work that I AM GLAD!!! it is not in any computer, It is a metal box with cables coming out and says "AMD and Intel compatible")

Never heard of the brand but 600w is more than enough for a 950 afaik.

The card only uses up to 100 watts and I thought that it would be okay to use this power supply because it has a high power output.

I have used the power supply in my old build which has gpu that didn't require a pci-e power connector.

How much does it weigh?

Does it have PCI connectors?

And where did it come from?

I  think it didn't reach a kilogram and it doesn't have a pci connector. It came from my old pc. I was planning on attaching a molex to pci connector adaptor to it.

a cheap psu belongs in NO system, not even the internet browsing one, as cheap PSU's are a fire hazard regardless if it says 600W-800W-2250W-10000W, also a lot of cheap PSU's won't even do their rated wattage.

Not good quality.

I'll find the PSU tier list.

What about the 1st episode of scrapyard wars. Linus used a generic power supply with a Radeon HD 7950. And The 7950 uses like 150+ watts.

It is not a smart idea.

The goal of scrapwars was the best $400 computer, doesn't mean it needs to last.

Look at PSU tiers here:

Oh...I think at the very least the design is a lot older than you think. I've got a PSU from 2003 that from the sounds of it has similar connectors (400W, 1 sata, 1 FDD, 4 Molex, 1 24 pin and 1 4 pin). Also, never use molex to PCIe adapters.

What do you think is the worst case scenario if I used this power supply? Will it blow?
