Is this good?

Nohemi

My setup is going to be used for mostly mine craft with mods and CSGO. Is this too overkill, if so help me make it cheaper and more fit for what I plan to run on this computer. This is my setup, feel free to suggest parts. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ffm8kL

Is it good: Yes

Is it overkill: ABSOLUTEY POSITIVELY YES

“When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

It is a bit unbalanced, save some money on CPU and case and get better GPU or save money for better mouse for CSGO ;)

Looks like a solid build to me OP.

However, i'd change the case, i've had one of those in the past, and a mechanical drive causes major vibrations through the frame of the case.

Also, i'd say get an EVGA 650W gold PSU, it should be close price-wise, and it's of much better quality.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

The NEX ones are really not that good. You can go with a 550W XFX PSU but I'm a bit worried about the wattage, because the 290 is a power whore.

So if I go with the R9 280 graphics card then I'll be fine?

I'd get the 290. If you can, add like 20/30$ to the budget and buy the EVGA 750W G2. This way you can have a great GPU and still have juice to power it.

If you crank the settings up, definitely not.

So it will be just enough to handle those games?

The 290? That thing will run them with ease.
