GRAND THEFT AUTO V - BENCHMARK THREAD

IdortMasterRace

If there is already a thread similar to this, apologies in advance. I did have a look around but didn't see anything.

Basically, post your computer specs (in text form, or maybe post your Speccy or something), post your GTAV graphic settings, resolution, etc, and then post what frame rates you get during gameplay. Would be interesting to see what different people get with different rigs.

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

- WCCFTECH

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

But the benchmark sucks and doesn't show jack about ingame :/

*Reserved for when I get home*

I didn't mean use the actual in-game benchmark, I meant just make an average estimate of what you get in normal gameplay.

The benchmark isn't a good tool anyway. It's very different between each test (in some tests, there's lots of shit happening, in others there isn't). NVIDIA didn't use the in-game benchmark when they did their graphic settings guide either.

Keen but wouldn't different locations/angles/fidelity in certain sections that people use also sway results of expected 'Average' performance they give overall like the benchmark changing.

Maybe pick a spot for people to go to?....take a selfie at a certain location with fraps (or whatever) on :)

/Also a seperate Day/Night result..? If one is more intensive than another... maybe I'm asking for it to be too complex.... but it would finetune extected performance results maybe..

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Just an average during all kinds of gameplay. Like what I posted, I get 60 fps all the time no matter the day/weather, but drops to 50s when explosions and heavy action is happening. Others can post similar, like I've heard some people get low FPS in forest areas but otherwise consistent FPS.

I'd say something like that is more accurate than "I get this FPS in this one specific location", because one specific location isn't representitive of general gameplay.

Eitherhe has high refresh monitor and wants 90+ FPS / had crashes (this are stable settings) or doesnt care about the settings he turned down.

Thats my best guess.

For easier benchmarking, set a default setting that everyone runs at (that's the true reason to benchmark, to determine the difference with the same workload).

Also Benchmark scores are saved, and many people don't know that.

Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Benchmarks

Open with WordPad (Notepad formatting screws it up).

Yeah, I agree. I was thinking that it was a bit odd there wasn't standard settings for this test.

I guess the OP just wanted people to be able to check what settings their setup might run at and at what FPS.. but I don't know.

This works as-is for comparison of settings people use and the resulting framerates at different resolutions. The in-game benchmark gives a different reading every time and is just as random as the game itself.

there are plenty of different official benchmarks out there if people want to read them:

Again, this isn't supposed to be an official objective benchmark. It's for people to get an estimation of what kind of frame rates people get in actual gameplay, and what kinf of graphic settings they manage to use. We know that Guru3D, Techpowerup, etc. do official benchmarks, but this thread isn't for that.

Hey, for a 400$ laptop with a 1080p IPS panel and a touch screen, I think it's alright. x3
