Konami voluntarily delisted itself from the New York Stock Exchange

Bouzoo

Konami today voluntarily delisted itself from the New York Stock Exchange, effective April 24.

Konami first notified investors of plans to delist in November and filed the notice on April 1, according to SEC documents. In today's filing, Konami notes that 99.71 percent of the trading of the company's stock over the past year occurred in Japan and London.

What the hell is going on? They getting bought by Nintendo or something?

I don't stock market much, but isn't this something you do when you're about to go back to being private? Someone correct me on that one if I'm wrong.

That sounds right.

What would that bring them?

That sounds right.

What would that bring them?

Not having to give a fuck about what the market says or wants and only having to answer to the internal leadership of the company and not shareholders across the globe who predictably only care about profits.

When Dell went private, it was a great moment. Their quality crawled back up and it shows today with what they are making under their own leadership vs. the whims of the public market.

-bad things-

-private things-

Guys. Read.

" In today's filing, Konami notes that 99.71 percent of the trading of the company's stock over the past year occurred in Japan and London."

That's their reason. That's why they are doing this.

They are removing themselves from the New York Stock Exchange because their stock is basically not traded there. Why list? It's a ton of accounting work to do that, generally.

I have no idea what Konami is doing, but I'm starting to think aliens or the supernatural might be involved. This shit is getting too weird not to be an X-Files conspiracy.

Konami is a lot bigger than just video games, even with kojima they were small time, only 3 major titles in pes, metal gear, and ddr and their attempts to expand failed (zoe, castlevania,so on)
