Auto Hot Key Script (Internet)

Ryouichi Kiriyami

im looking to make a script that would..."Check" my internet. or maybe ping a location. and if it doesnt recieve an answer OR if a "request timed out" it would simply pop up a bubble telling me "Internet lost" id like it to do this every 5 seconds.

..........i dont even remotely know how i would even go about this. been reading quite abit and i still dont get it :/ help would be very much appriciated.

The only way to check your internet/ping is having to connect to someone's server and analyze the response.

you can probably make a script that opens CMD and runs a ping test..but for it to pop up with a message you would actually have to write a program

curious why you even want to do this? surely the connection icon on the desktop will tell you if you are connected or not

You could just write a simple .bat script to open CMD and ping a website, if you can ping the website, your internet is working.

...now that i have itnernet back. goddamn comcast.

anyways. soooo i cant have a ahk script auto ping a website every say ohhh 5000 milliseconds. and if the request times out i cant get a notification?

and mostly why do i want this

well easily. my little internet notification. it NEVER changes. even when i havnt had internet for the past couple hours. its all > YUP STILL GOOD. them blazing speeds.

theres a program that does kinda what im asking...but the smallest alotted time is 60 seconds. which is kinda lame.
