Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

If you need a low-profile CPU cooler chances are you're using a case that won't provide enough airflow for overclocking anyways, so just use the Intel stock cooler and save your money.

I'm actually using a mid-tower.

I just feel more comfortable without a massive heat sink attached to my motherboard

Also, I want to keep my temperatures low

If you have a mid-tower then you already have plenty of airflow over the CPU area, so a low-profile cooler won't provide any big benefit over just the stock Intel one.

How low profile are we talking?

Be quiet just unveiled two new great low profile coolers

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

  • 3 weeks later...

I have the same issue. I tried sticking a Hyper 212 Evo in my mid tower and it didn't fit (about 1 inch or so was sticking out of the case). This post has been helpful in finding a lower profiled cpu cooler to use without having to replace the entire case.

Windows 10 Edu | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | Ryzen 9 3950x | 4x 16GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB| ROG Strix GeForce® RTX 2080 SUPER™ Advanced edition | Samsung 980 PRO 500GB + Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB + 8TB Seagate Barracuda | EVGA Supernova 650 G2 | Alienware AW3418DW + LG 34uc87c + Dell u3419w | Asus Zephyrus G14

Having a heavy heatsink isn't an issue unless you care about how heavy the system is as a whole. Mounting equipment is there to properly displace the stress across the motherboard.

What case are you using? What are you cooling?

What's your budget? Can you link us to where you're shopping?
